My problem is that I fall in love with words, rather than actions. I fall in love with ideas and thoughts, instead of reality. And it will be the death of me.

“Wow, taste this. It’s better than sex. I missed coffee, I swear to god. Best thing I’ve ever had.”
“i’m going to see star wars again! do you wanna come?”
“Again? You really enjoyed it that much?”
“My parents wanted me to become a concert pianist; or a piano teacher, something boring like that. I don’t think I could do this for a living. I think it’d take the joy out of it for me – I’d like to have one thing in my life I can still enjoy.”
“I can see why your parents encouraged you to pursue it though. You’re extremely talented.” Calliope paused to watch his hands glide over the piano. “Teaching would probably take the joy out of it, but performing might not. What's the other option for a career? Something you hate?”
I hate moving place to place.
“I know. Whose idea was it for everyone to up and move suddenly? I already know two people who are living out of their suitcase.”
“Well, I can say, without hesitation, that there’s definitely something in this house blocking me from powering up. Shocker.”
“Powering up? Do you mean, like, a phone or something? There should definitely be an extra outlet around here somewhere.”
“I felt like making hot cocoa, and it just was there. Are all these cabinets stocked? Could I make spaghetti carbonara - if I only knew how?” There’s curiosity sparking in her eyes as she hops onto a stool. “Anyway, I made an extra cup. Habit, I guess. If you want it?”
“I know, I know. The kitchen is basically something out of a movie. You think it and it’s there. I noticed it one day when I wanted sushi and suddenly it was in the fridge. I have no idea how to make spaghetti carbonara either, though I think there might be a cookbook around here somewhere...” Calliope wracked her brain for a location, but could find none. “Anyway, I’ll take it. What did you use? The generic brand?”
“But I do not understand, if she really does want true love why does she not fight for it? True love should be fought for, there is no use in just sitting there and waiting for it to happen.”
“It’s different for everyone, but especially when it comes to characters in a movie. What’re you watching?”
With tentative relief, BB-8 approaches the human he’s run into: “Lost.” The dungeons have to be his least favorite part of the castle. They are cold and dank and dark and too easy to find yourself lost in.
Being run into was never something fun in Calliope’s opinion. More often than not, while at home, she walked with a coffee in one hand and her phone in the other. She was a busy woman, always jotting down ideas and to do lists into her note app. But since she was in Hogwarts and her phone failed to receive signal in the place, she found herself just walking with an actual notepad in her hand. She found that being bumped into was much less annoying when she wasn’t so lost inside of her own mind. “I’m sorry, what was that?”
“trust me, it’s wishful thinking on my part. i’ve been doing this SHIT for a while. i was here for california, until the move to stonefield, and now this. there’s NO way out.” haley shrugged, nonchalantly, like she was over it. glancing down, haley’s doe eye widened, “makes us all look pregnant with yoda’s baby.” giving the dark girl a wave, haley introduced herself with a warm smile, “hey – haley dunphy, nice to meet you.”
“Well, hey, practice makes perfect. I’m sure if it’s been such a long time they’re just grooming you for a promotion.” Calliope knew this was more likely the case, as she had more than enough experience to believe it. “Look at you, you’re a traveler. That’s exciting! Have any tips for a rookie?” She laughed at the girl’s reaction, “Yoda’s baby. I’ve not heard that yet.”
eve was quick to chew her lip, something that was new to her. never before had she had lips or a bigger vocabulary for that matter. she was now able to talk more than she ever had before but only one word was stuck in her head at the moment. “OVERWHELMED,” eve whispered.
Calliope was wandering around the immense castle when she came across someone she had never seen before. Her rule of thumb, to always talk to at least one stranger a day, popped into her head and she looked around. The halls were nearly clear. “Hey, are you feeling well?”
❝ .. — okay, but.. where am i, exactly ?? this looks strangely a lot like Hogwarts and i’m not sure how to feel about that, to be completely honest with you. am i going crazy? i think i’m going crazy. ❞
“You aren’t going crazy. This is hogwarts. We’re supposed to go to classes and learn magic. Somehow a big group of us all ended up here with no way out. If you think you can find a way, go ahead!”
“No way I can handle this mad house while sober so for fuck’s sake, Go Gryffindor! Or whatever the fuck house you’re in, doesn’t matter. Just take a goddamn drink.”
“I’ll take one of those... And your name, while you’re at it. You have no idea how long i’ve been looking for someone to drink with in this damn castle.”
