The guard had startled her at first. Almost all of the slaves had ran, and Kerrigan was no different. She managed to hide for a good couple of hours before this one found her. Some of the guards were tired, and it showed. Such was her luck with this one. So she ran. She didn’t want to go back to the cells. None of them did, and she would fight one of them if she had to. If she could find her way back to the woods, she had carved out a nice little hideout for herself.
Of course she picked up on something else, or someone else, but she had not intention of stopping. Her speed was no match for his, and before she could process it, she had been caught. Kerrigan yelped out, nearly falling from the sudden force of being stopped. “Hey! Let go of me!” She didn’t have much experience with vampires outside of Thorn Haven, but it only took her a second to realize that he was one. She was catching on quickly. “Let.. Let go.”
It had been clear she was running towards the woods - it was a smart move, there would be far more places to hide. Though he had dashed those dreams the second he’d grabbed onto her. Regardless of if she had managed to hide or not she would have only been buying herself a day or two of freedom. He was doing her a favor and dashing those dreams quickly rather than letting them run rampant.
At first she had some fight in her, though after a few seconds she seemed a bit more timid - far less demanding she be released and more asking for it. “Why should I let go? It’s not like you’re going to get anywhere even if I do. You’ll always be found and you cant even get past city limits with the barrier in place.”
