one for you.
@chdani
“dani.” lynn’s voice, less quiet than it normally is with people, broke through the still of the ight air. she’d been reading against a tree just outside the cabin area when dani appeared and didn’t notice her for a good for moment, but when she did, the olders attention was completely on her younger sister. there’s only a couple of people lynn feels okay getting close too. and even though she has control over her ability, she still gets scared when making contact with anyone. it would crush her if she hurt dani–or anyone else. but even then, she does ten to let dani and lana in closer. tho lana pushes her self closer, and lynn never backs up anymore.
“it’s late, why are you up?” lynn was normally so passive with people, but ever since brooklyn took her in, she felt a responsibility for dani as well. took to the fox quickly. a surprise to her, as she never takes to anyone. but dani is her younger sister in all but blood and lynn would always be here for her. she adores this girl.
after dark excursions are no stranger to dani. even on nights when there are no late night activities targeted toward mutants like her, who function well at night, she often pushes her luck on curfew, braving the wrath of avery and sera so she can continue exploring the camp. this is only her second year at camp haven, and she knows she hasn’t even begun to discover all of the camp’s secrets. she has plenty of adventures to go on here, and she’d much rather go on them when the heat of the sun has faded away, thank you very much.
she turns at the sound of her name, ears pricking and tail tensing as she searches for the one who’s spotted her, expecting a counselor or brooke there to scold her for being out of her cabin so close to curfew. she must make quite a sight, standing there like a deer -- or, rather, a fox in headlights. her eyes land on her sister, though, and she relaxes, immediately bounding over to lynn and plopping down on the ground next to her. “i’m exploring,” she says happily, crossing her legs and leaning forward, her tail laid out on the ground behind her. “why are you reading outside?” she counters, raising an eyebrow. “it’s dark.” of course, dani could see fine -- even better than she could in the daytime, in fact. but lynn’s mutation doesn’t grant her the gift of night vision, so it’s strange that she’s chosen to read out here in the dark rather than inside where it’s well-lit.
