Serena Nicotine, 31, has spent more than half of her life in jail.
At the age of 15, Nicotine killed the female operator of a group home in North Battleford, hitting her over the head with a frying pan before stabbing her repeatedly.
Since then, Nicotine has been involved in several violent attacks and hostage incidents, including holding a psychiatric nurse hostage at knifepoint and burning the face and hair of a prison guard who was blindfolded.
One guard told CBC Regina that if you didn't know Nicotine’s history, you might let her babysit your children.
