I been meaning ask when I see your post about the scene of Blaze roasting Ice is different between English dub and Malay dub. Why do you think it's so different?

And in Malay it's say: Face like yours can be found anywhere. People pirating your face to make a pajamas

Okay first, I admit that I didnt really watch BoBoiBoy in English dub because yeah I speak Malay myself.

Other than being different humor because the joke actually so fitting in Malaysia. But the joke is different. My thought is because BoBoiBoy own popularity fit the joke

In Malay, it state that BoBoiBoy is well know at Malaysia. I mean clearly. It's so famous that people actually pirating BoBoiBoy face to a pajamas. I freaking love how true is that. Haha. But outside of Malaysia BoBoiBoy clearly not that famous yet. The joke is fitting because be honest Malaysian people dont watch it English 🧍🏼 because...why would they??? I like how the joke reflec that about BoBoiBoy

You forgot to add the context that cheap pirate copies are often sold in night markets/pasar malam. So now these Boboiboy-rip-off kids jammies are not only sold in night markets, there's a lot of those in e-commerce platforms too (y'all familiar with Amazon, we're here with Shopee). So "a face like yours is all over the place (directly translated)" is fit for Malay context

"Muka macam kau ni bersepahla"

When direct translated it sounds like

"I've seen a lot of face like yours. A face like yours is all over the place" (in an insulting way)

Now here goes the second context that is used for the ENG dub. People in Malaysia also call people with typical face "muka awam"/" 'public' face ", which means "average Joe/Mary" or "you're not that special". Which you lowkey had to agree without the white hair and cap Boboiboy's a typical MC face with brown hair brown eyes. Yep. "Plain" as ENG Blaze worded it.

Another wink is that they marketed Boboiboy as an "extra" in Papazola Movie. Papa Zola's present timeline in the movie was directly after the events of Baraju.

Title inspired from a line from Lorde's No Better (2013)- where she wrote the song at 14. 2013 was a prime time for me too in middle school. Getting dead means getting old, it's another way to say f*ck it and just do it..live your best youth life.

There's another reference line "I hate that I had to that. I fucking hate it." It's a reference from Becoming Elizabeth (2022), the fictional show about 14yr old Elizabeth I. It was a dialogue by Robert Dudley, Elizabeth's childhood friend and companion.

The song name is Rabbit Heart (Raise it Up) by Florence + The Machine btw. I was drawn to the lyrics about the gift that comes with a price. Until at the end of the song, the songwriter finally abandons the 'it comes with a price', fully accepting it as a gift.

It's an editing project that I've wanted to do since March (around the time when the movie title was announced) and oh my god when the freaking BM3 teaser drop the first line Boboiboy said is "This power is no longer a gift" kskhagskdhshjsks

I even had the whole symbolic meaning of the song noted but more Kirana centric

These lines are the chorus of the song. The songwriter repeats the chorus 3 times towards the end. Each time metaphorically represents a turn of events.

This is a gift

Who is the lamb and

Midas is king

Gift - now we know that BBB realizes the capabilities of his powers are not "gifted" but a curse (it comes with a price)

Lamb - lambs are meant for sacrificial ritual. The sought of power has brought into many victims involved as its consequences.

Knife - the executor, of these sacrificial lambs. It can also be viewed as weapon gained or power

Midas - the story of a greedy king who can turn objects to gold, only for him to accidentally turn his loved ones into gold. In a turn of events, Midas represents Retakka, Kirana and Boboiboy (including the aura of the masters).

Retakka is 'the ghost'(king) that haunts everyone. It is the 'object' of revenge that Kirana holds onto. A 'shadow' that instill fear in Boboiboy's quest of third tier. Ironically, the power of sunlight that once belonged to the cursed 'ghost' is passed onto Boboiboy, and now he has that advantage of power (gold in the sunlight). Kirana despite her motivations have turned into a shadow of Retakka. Ironically her name also means sunlight. Eventually BBB would embrace the 'curse', turning it into 'gold in the sunlight'. (A gift that he can use for goodness)
