A few months back we lost all our chickens to a couple of dogs who got into our fenced yard. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Our girls were well behaved, sweet, and never left the fenced area. We recently decided we were ready for chickens again after modifications to the yard and coop to up security, so please enjoy some pictures of the new flock.

Not everyone has a name yet, and there's two roosters. We'll have to see which is more suitable to staying when they're a bit older.

I am absolutely in love with this sweet little girl I hatched from a batch of eggs I got from TOF. She's stunning, as are all their birds, and so incredibly sweet tempered and friendly. I frequently bring her out of the hutch to sit in the yard with me while I read, and she just explores next to me, has a little sunny dirt bath, and then chills on my leg most of the time.

Is there anything in particular going on with the very pale ground color on the chick on the left and the one in the right?

Most likely they are either a feather sexable variety, or a different genetic than the others. I cross my colour genetics in my birds, and when I have chicks that look that that they often age up into pretty little pale/medium grays.
