mango / the cheerful loverboy from : jackpot crash course - rp blog !
usual blog rules apply - both the mun & muse go by they / he .
⤷ PERSONALITY :
Mango is an exceptionally friendly and loyal person, to their own detriment. loud, easily excitable and whimsical, Mango can often come across as overbearing, especially when meeting others for the first time. but above all, they’re a total people-pleaser. he bends at the whims of others, and while they often struggle to understand social cues, if someone is direct about their dislike towards them, Mango will completely switch up how he acts around the person — even if it’s not entirely truthful to how they actually are deep down. this, of course, exhausts them, but he will stubbornly continue their attempts to befriend the other party despite this.
to Mango, strangers are just friends or enemies that he hasn’t made yet: first impressions are everything. for those they don’t know very well, they hold grudges like no other, but for those they care for, he lets things go far too easily. he will do anything to make sure the people he loves are comfortable, even if it means hurting himself in the process. however, towards the people he doesn’t like, he’s highly brash and hotheaded.
overall, they’re a very forward person who wears their heart on their sleeve. him having a simple acquaintance is a rare sight — everyone seems to be either their best friend or their mortal enemy. he acts entirely on impulse when it comes to the fate of his own wellbeing, but as soon as their loved ones are involved, they overthink every tiny little thing they do to ensure the safety and comfort of the other party.
⤷ HISTORY & ARREST :
Mango was born and raised in Australia, but subsequently moved to Modos to be closer to their friends. in their early childhood, Mango’s father still had partial custody of them, so they spent the weekends at their dad’s place. safe to say, he was never the best guy. he never bothered to try and understand or accomodate to Mango, the way he thinks, or their unique needs. his mother, on the other hand, has always been a supportive figure in their life, who shares a lot of similarities and gets along very well with them. in their pre-teen years, his mother fought for full custody of them, and they haven’t seen their father since. she was where Mango got their loving and loyal personality from — albeit, both them and her need to learn some more respect for themselves.
Mango has always had a tendency to wander, leading him to strange (and sometimes dangerous) places. one of these expeditions led them to an underground boxing ring, where — despite their disinterest in the sport — Mango was instantly enamoured by the man in the ring. they started talking and hit it off, with Mango slowly gaining it’s trust over the course of a few years, and later, his heart. since then, Mango has vowed loyalty to Sandbag, even though their relationship is actually rather casual. they’re not married, but Mango is fond of calling him “hubby” anyway.
Mango would attend every single one of Sandbag’s matches as an audience member, always ready to patch it up once it’s done. so when it came the day that sandbag was arrested, Mango was quick to defend him, getting into a scuffle with a police officer which ended in bloodshed. the two of them were arrested together, which led Mango to sign up for Bet and Forgive to support Sandbag… and because they know that they never would’ve survived in jail.
they have no plan of winning. despite their fear of death, Mango is sickeningly loyal, content with letting that be the thing that kills him.
