my flatmate was watching a YT vid about deviantart bases and it reminded me of being 12 years old when me and my bestie at the time were big time into yu-gi-oh and we used bases to make art of our self-inserts with our anime crushes... as u can tell mine was ryou bakura (hers was yami yugi)

my self-insert was named 'zena star' (because she had a white tattoo of a star on her face) and she was a twilight vampire (hence the sparkly skin, yellow eyes, and movie!alice cullen inspired hairstyle) who used a flaming chainsaw as her weapon (our OCs were always having adventures) and also had a magic carpet for transport (not pictured)

i WISH i had any of my old artwork but in my later teen years i was so embarassed i threw it all away. but now i'm 26 years old and cringe is dead!!! and my inner 12 year old deserves to have their dreams validated 😤
