Daffodils - A symbol for rebirth and new beginnings, as well as narcissism.
Hello i promise I’m not dead so i offer you a delgado in these trying times
im just a poor sapphic,,, hhh,,, missy w fangs (the dr comes into lecture late with teeth marks on his neck)
MISSY WITH FAAAANGS!
Yall really are galaxy braining with the cheetah stuff my pals
12 would always tell Missy NOT to bite them but alas when they are hanging out in the vault and the Doctor isn’t paying attention it’s bitey time!!!
And ofc 12 would ignore any comment the students would ask about it (there begins a rumor that the Doctor is a vampire)
Missy already has so much “>:3″ energy, the fangs fit right in
So hopping on the Cheetah-teeth master train, what if when the Doctor plays with his hair (or rubs tummy?) he just melts? Cause cheetahs absolutely love affection (plus they purr!)
CHEETAH PURRS ARE SO LOUD!!!!
And honestly Dh!Master is already hanging in there by a thread, the Doctor playing with their hair? They are GONE.
Fang.
sir that’s my emotional support master
a piece of art has revived me
The Cheetah virus is still there somehow. I know it.
AAAAAAA
I GOT A RESPONSE FROM RONA MUNRO (Author of Survival and NuWho S10 The Eaters of Light) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
so for women’s international day i thought i’d bring over the idea that
if missy had a grappling hook absolutely no one would ever have a chance. yall be done for
I forgot I made this post
That would be because I made it while intoxicated and I correctly changed ‘change’ to ‘chance’ so enjoy
kinda glum that the dhawan master is evil to the point of claiming he never had a good side at all because the doctor never knew missy redeemed herself so now they’re gonna think the kindness they showed her was a mistake and that they shouldn’t have given missy a chance because she really is irredeemable, and that’s, how do i say this? kind of the opposite of what doctor who is about
The Doctor and the Master + favourite moments [8/?]
Ainley!Master and Seven — “Such a simple, brutal power. Just the power of tooth and claw. It nearly destroyed me, a Time Lord.”
I’m thinking about hosting a 24/7 online Doctor Who minecraft server that’s lgbtq friendly and explicitly so
Other big servers can be nervewracking and minor smaller servers can be pretty nice but I need to know if people would be into it before I do anything at all
I love Sylvester McCoy and the fanstastical ways he falls
Re-blogging ‘cause I think everyone could use this at one point in there life or another.
I needed this 4 years ago
I just saw a post criticising Chris Chibnall’s characterisation of the Master for being ‘too cruel’ and said even Simm!Master wasn’t that bad, I just- I feel like people can’t help see him as more cruel simply because this time around the Doctor is a woman and so in their heads any cruel way he treats the Doctor is seen as worse just because of the fact he is a man and she is a woman.
I mean don’t get me wrong I’m not saying his portrayal of the Master isn’t cruel, he even said himself he believes it’s one of the darkest performances of the character but let’s just put this into perspective.
Simm!Master held the Doctor and his friend/Martha’s family hostage for a year, he forced Martha’s family to surve him while he tied Jack up and tortured him and turned the Doctor into a defenceless old man and stuck him in a cage all while he was in an abusive relationship with Lucy Saxon.
Dhawan!Master destroyed Gallifrey, nothing the Doctor hasn’t done before, put the Doctor in a cage, (hello Simm!Master), showed the Doctor her past and revealed to her that she is the Timeless Child, creates an army of Cybermasters out of the dead body’s of the Time Lord’s he killed, tho this was in an attempt to become the creator of a race in a similar way the Doctor “created” the Time Lords because he wants to be “special” like her but basically uses this army as an empty threat to the universe just to lure the Doctor into committing murder/suicide of himself, her and his army because he is suicidal and he wants the Doctor to stoop to his level because he’s having some real issues with seeing himself as inferior and unworthy.
I’m not denying these aren’t cruel things but that’s the Master’s character and I’ll say that I believe Dhawan’s performance is one of the darkest but I’m not sure about cruelest yet.
They also criticised Chibnall for not making him multi-layer enough and basically just a villain, which... if that’s all you saw in him then that’s on you but he has so many layers he’s putting Shrek to shame.
They also basically said Chibnall has no respect for the Doctor and the Masters past or in developing their present relationship and is only interested in them being enemies playing the genetic hero vs villain dynamic and I’m like... where we watching two completely different series? Yes their relationship is the worst it has ever been but you’re blind if you can’t see all the references to their past and all the subtle (or not so subtle) details Chibnall has set in play for the Doctor and the Master which can be used for when they return on screen together in future episodes (the Master is not dead), I mean he is out there using a married couple to foreshadow and parallel the Doctor and the Masters feelings/relationship.
In my opinion if he is planning to continue to write the Doctor and the Master in future series then he is planning a very slow burn to a possible redemption or at least a sort of redemption, which will just make it even more worth it in the end when we witness their character development.
He isn’t writing them so it’s just the Master hurting the Doctor but it’s the Doctor hurting the Master too, they’re both in bad places personally which is also having an affect on how they treat each other, even the Doctor giving up on him is a reference to their pass because she is protecting herself from being hurt again and the mind boggling thing is that they’ll accuse Chibnall of completely ignoring Missy’s redemption arc while also criticising him for making the Doctor give up on the Master as if that isn’t literally him acknowledging Missy’s redemption arc.
It’s hard to explain it when we don’t even know everything that’s going on yet and there’s still so much to unpack with this version of the Doctor and the Master.
I don’t even know if I’m making any sense at this point it’s almost 4am and I can’t sleep and I’m mad at people complaining about Chris Chibnall and the Doctor and the Master, especially when the criticism I read seems as though they don’t even bother looking past the surface of their relationship, they’ve given it zero analysis in favour of being angry at Chibnall.
I think when sacha dhawan said darker, he was more referring to the suicidal aspects of the character.
Nothing he did here was any crueler than anything he's done before. I'd even argue that he's actually less cruel to the doctor than simm!master was for sure.
He never once tried to kill her (he even lets her escape before shooting at ko Sharmus) and even though he couched the big reveal of her history as trying to destroy her, he was still telling her what the time lords kept from her.
I'd argue that his main goal wasn't even to hurt her (even the companions - you notice he told ashad to just bring a small unit to get them, which actually gave the humans a fighting chance. Whether this was intentional is debatable...). I think he wanted to bring her back down to his level and die with her, and to do that he had to hurt her. THAT'S dark, but I wouldn't say it's exceptionally sadistic.
This is the most complex and broken I think we've seen the master in awhile and the fact that people can't see that is shocking.
And the fact that people are already debating the gender dynamics worries me because both 10 and 12 were extremely forgiving and vulnerable in their love for the master even when he didn't deserve it but you just know - despite it being 100% in character- if 13 ever shows softness for the master, people will start crying about toxic relationships and how a woman shouldn't be trying to save an undeserving man.
The Master forgetting to pretend
