I thought this was an art piece as a metaphor for executive dysfunction

🐦⬛ “Big Jim’s eyeball fell out. Like, fell the fuck out of his head. It rolled onto the grass, and to be honest, Big Jim and I were both taken aback.” 🐦⬛
Hollow Kingdom was such a delightful read. When I read the excerpt of “Zombie apocalypse set in Seattle as told from the point of view of a per crow” I was smitten.
It was equal parts horror, humor, and heart and I cannot wait to read its sequel. Was an incredible palette cleanser for when I didn’t want hard core horror but something still in the spooky realm.
Got to see Phantom for the first time on stage recently and it has unlocked a long beloved hyper fixation that has laid dormant in me since I was 12. To say I was blown away by the incredible performances, lush set pieces, and entire experience would be the very definition of an understatement.
It has even inspired me to pick up this beautiful edition of the 1909 novel that started it all and has been decorating my shelves. I read the novel back in high school and remember having mixed feelings so I’m excited to revisit it and see if my opinion has changed.
Your chains are still mine. You will sing for me..!
If you are on a Windows 11 computer, pause everything you are doing for one minute and:
Open computer settings
Click on Accessibility on the left-hand menu
Scroll down the Accessibility menu and click on the Keyboard Option
Under the "related settings" tab, click "Typing" which should have a description of "spellcheck, autocorrect, text suggestions."
Turn off the AI "correct misspelled words"
and most importantly: turn off Typing Insights.
[ID: a screenshot of the above mentioned Windows 11 settings, showing that Typing Insights is now turned off, with the following description from Microsoft: "Windows is using artificial intelligence to help you type To help you save time and type efficiently, Windows can learn to suggest words, autocorrect spelling mistakes, and interpret swiped typing. Take a look at the insights below to see up-to-the-minute stats on how Windows has learned to improve typing for you. These stats are stored only on this device and Microsoft does not collect the typing insights data." End ID]
"But Mx. November, it says right there Microsoft doesn't collect the typing insights data!"
I mean, yeah, it says that..... for *now.*
It also only specifies that Microsoft themselves don't collect it, and they wouldn't have made this something that I was automatically, secretly opted in for without my knowledge if they didn't have something to be gained by me not knowing it exists!
I only found this because a cat walked on the keyboard and turned on Filter Keys and while trying to figure out why my keyboard was just making chirping noises instead of typing, I happened to click on "typing insights" by accident.
Generative AI, and especially AI that is used to "personalize" and track your activity across the web and on your computer are never going to be in your best interest, it is always going to serve these companies in whatever way will line their pockets the most, and all it takes is updating their terms of service once, and then all of that data they promised they weren't collecting suddenly all belongs to them.
Has this been done yet
The locals call it ‘the creaking ghost’ or ‘the wandering effigy’. Some believe it to be the spirit of a drowned wise woman who was known for leaving protective sigils made from twigs around the old village. Those who encounter this unsettling apparition become paralysed by intense dread, their minds forever haunted by memories not their own.

Richard Beymer, who played Benjamin Horne in Twin Peaks, took a remarkable series of black and white, behind the scenes photographs during the filming of the original series’ final episode in 1991. With David Lynch’s permission, Beymer used his own Olympus camera to document the final days on set after the in-house photographer had left due to the show’s cancellation.
