I watched these documentaries too
Yes, I also watched both documentaries about the Fyre festival the week they dropped. I think we were all captivated by the dueling nature of the Hulu Netflix offerings. That was honestly the draw for me, the doc battle, the Hulu secrecy, the fact that I’m already paying for both of these subscriptions.
I think every podcast I listen too talked about them. Each hot take eventually ran into the next in a kind of watered down sludge. What did I think?
I think by the end it felt like a pop culture assignment to watch both, but I love a good cluster-fuck, and I love Billy McFarland's personality. I think it’s terrifying and very of our time. He’s a megalomaniac who was able to manipulate everyone around him with Instagram. He’ll do it again too.
I also felt like hot bitches really have a lot of power, and yet none at all. I am of course part of the problem because I would also do most things Kendell Jenner tells me to do. Her torso is just so mesmerizing.
ps we are all supposed to be boycotting fuckjerry now. (the guys who produced the Netflix doc. and also did the media for fyre in the first place) * everyone on Instagram is doing so I did too.
Fyre Festival memes, please.
Bonus diet soda
Last night during my shift in the computer lab dedicated to freshman art students, I felt a bit parched so I went to get me a diet soda.
I decided on a diet Pepsi, which is a sweet treat to be sure but when it fell from the machine and I reached in to grab it, I made a delightful discovery. BONUS SODA!
"What a treat, what a dream! " Nicole Byer
Now as a grown ass person this delighted me, but for a moment I thought about how much more it would have delighted me when I was a freshman art student.
When I was a freshman at MSUM we had a student lounge in the center for arts. It also had a soda machine (and a microwave so dirty I currently shudder at its memory). Every other time you paid for a ginger ale it would spit out two!
It remained unfixed for a pretty long time. It was one of those things we all just knew about. Whoever refilled the machine must have just thought that it was a ginger ale kind of place.
As that memory hit me I thought for a moment about leaving that bonus soda for the next person. I didn't of course. (because I'm the worst) I'd like to think that if it hadn't been a diet I would have?
Either way, it was a highlight of the night. (Although I did feel pretty gross carrying two sodas down the hall, like real soda fiend.) I guess there is just a part of me that will always be a freshman art student. And I'm good with that.

I spit on myself tonight, not on purpose but still. Not my finest moment.

Thank you, Kris
It’s time to say thank you to Kris Jenner. She’s the most important media mogul in the world. Yeah, I said it internet, I’m on the record here.
As with the entire family, it is very easy to write her off a vapid, dumb, “cancer” (I absolutely hate the use of this term by the way), but I think she is a true American original. She’s the Howard Hughs of our time, except her only eccentricities are keeping it tight, being friends with Ryan Seacrest, and incredible monochromatic sweat suits.
So thank you, Kris. You are a true visionary.

Hurricane coverage
I’m here in the eye of a hurricane in Virginia, and by that I mean it hasn’t hit yet. All my classes have been canceled so I basically have the week off.
What to do with all this extra time? It’s pretty obvious. Watch Anderson Cooper stand in a storm. I just love it so much. What could be more comforting in a time of crisis then watching Anderson Cooper get progressively more wet and disheveled? If you can think of anything let a girl know.
