Rest in peace to Maggie Smith, who passed away today, aged 89. A wonderful actress and woman.

The first thing I ever saw her in was the film The Secret Garden, back in 1993. My grandparents took us to see it. I started out disliking her character (Mrs. Medlock - the housekeeper, of all things!) but by the end of the film I liked her as an actress. ❤️💔

It’s been raining all day here. It fits my mood - just quiet, and a bit dreary.

I keep thinking about Maggie Smith’s family: both her sons, and her extended family of cast and crew members, of all the theatre productions and films that she was in. A lot of people in mourning. Mostly one image keeps coming back. 😢😭
