No matter how hard you try — no matter how many sheep you count — images of Jeno remain in your head. You can’t get the memory of him smiling at you across the room when he thought no one was looking out of your mind.
That look has changed everything. It was the moment you knew. It was the sledgehammer that brought his facade down. Right then and there, you realized that, despite his pretending, he does have feelings for you.
He’s pretending not to. That’s the part you’re stuck on. Why? It’s hardly a secret to anyone that you’re interested in him. Hell, a few weeks ago the two of you were lying face to face in his bed when you leaned forward to kiss him. He jumped back. You apologized fiercely. He reassured you. He drew up boundaries, but he was lying.
Now he is ignoring you.
