Soojin was born as the first child of her parents. Ever since she had memory, she was always destined for greatness. While she grew up craving the presence of a sibling, her younger brother, Yeonjun, became the light of her life when he was born. It was a great pleasure that he joined her dream of becoming an artist even after he saw how her parents were with her when she debuted in SEVENTEEN.
When Soojin turned 15 years old, she auditioned for PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT and got accepted right away, she trained for 4 years to become a solo artist but the company decided against it and debuted her with Seventeen as one of the Main vocalists and Rappers, thinking she would be a captivating factor that would help the group get the spotlight they deserved and would also help with the connection between the members.
When it comes to her personality, she's an introverted sagittarius and is always pursuing personal growth, maintaining a genuine and authentic approach to life. Soojin loves expressing herself through art, whether it's through her singing, writing or painting. Soojin’s also very optimistic, free-spirited, and deeply philosophical.
Carat admires her ability to show her vulnerabilities and strength, they always say it's inspiring to have such an honest artist in the industry and is always a breath of fresh air hearing her speak about things that aren't talked about enough in the K-Pop industry.

Soojin debuted in May 15, 2021 as a soloist with a full album called TREASURE in honor of her nickname when she was little and it represents her true self. She also wrote all the songs on the album and helped with the production of it and said that it was her favorite album to make.
She released her second full album called DEAR READER in August 14, 2023. She wrote all the songs in the album and she's the only one credited as a lyricist & composer of it. Soojin said that this was her most personal album and the reason behind this is because she revealed more about her mental struggles during her hiatus of 2022.
And her last release was on January 15, 2025 with a single called ZEN and she revealed that she's working on her new album on Weverse.

In 2019, Soojin became a global ambassador for Chanel, officially joining the house as one of its muses. She frequently represents the brand at fashion weeks, exclusive galas, and private events, embodying Chanel’s elegant yet modern essence in every appearance.
In 2023, she was officially named ambassador for Calvin Klein, actively participating in global campaigns. She even co-designed a limited collection with the brand’s creative team, which sold out within hours of its release.
By the end of 2024, Sooin was declared beauty ambassador for Lancôme, praised for her captivating features and graceful presence in global skincare and makeup campaigns.
She was also recently named the face of Tamburins, a Korean luxury fragrance and lifestyle brand, where her poetic aura and minimalist sophistication captured the essence of her campaigns with the brand.

Soojin is the firstborn in her family. Her mother used to call her “treasure” because of her name and because that's exactly what she meant to her parents for a long time.
She always had a good relationship with her family. They supported her during her trainee days, understanding the pressure and absence caused by her intense schedule and rare visits home.
Her younger brother, Yeonjun, adores and deeply admires her. He was the first to sincerely congratulate her when she revealed she would debut in Seventeen. At that time, the news were a shock to her family, Soojin debuting in a group made up entirely of men led her parents to disapprove and cut off contact with her for quite a while and although her relationship with her parents is still tense to this day, they occasionally speak.
Soojin tries to visit her family when her schedule and Yeonjun’s allow since he remains on good terms with their parents and has become the glue holding the family together.
• Soojin loves Harry Potter, her Hogwarts house is Gryffindor and her favorite character is Remus Lupin. When she was little, she called herself ‘moony’ like him and forced her brother to watch the movies with her.
• She lived alone after her debut since the company thought it would be better for her to have her own space as a woman.
• Soojin's favorite animal is the fox.
• She seems like a mean girl but is actually a kind and caring person.
• Her favorite actress is Florence Pugh.
• She loves playing instruments, she plays the piano, the bass, the guitar and the violin.
• Her favorite instrument is the guitar and she learned to play it at seven years old.
• She went into a hiatus in 2022 due to mental health issues and later returned during the ‘FML’ era (2023).
• She loves calling the members by petnames like “honey,” “sweetheart,” etc.
• Soojin almost didn't renew her contract with Seventeen due to her mental health and the hate she was getting but decided to do it for the members and all the people that love her.
