I think that if the great ace attorney were to ever get an animated adaptation it should have a couch gag where sholmes is doing a different weird thing in the opening every episode

Talking about misogyny in Ace Attorney's writing is frustrating to me because there's plenty there to criticize (which I do frequently) but at the same time I have never been in a fandom so dead-set on ignoring and blatantly misinterpreting its female characters. The og trilogy is very much centred around women but you would never guess that by looking at the fandom. And people are very quick to blame their own disregard for the women of the series on the games themselves, complaining that the female characters are "underwritten" when in fact the female characters are consistently interesting and complex and, for the most part, very well written. There's plenty to find fault with in regards to how ace attorney treats women as a social class but you cannot argue that the game does not love its female characters. It does. You guys are just incapable of thinking about anything other than slash shipping for 2 seconds

Women in fiction are so mistreated by both writers and fandoms. I love female characters, and I will always love women. If you do not like women or find female characters boring compared to the male ones by default, I am not on your side.
