Life Abroad (Overseas)
I haven’t posted anything for a very loooong time. Been caught up with too much work and adult responsibilities. I’ve been away from home for almost 2 years. Some may think I’ve been blessed with an opportunity abroad and such. I tell you life away from your home land is difficult and different. There are lot of pros and cons. It may look easy, happy and wealthy here but you don’t know the struggles one experience (Insert language barrier, cultural differences and working non-stop). I am speaking for majority of Filipinos I encountered thru our busines. I have a fair share and glimpses of their lives and most of their stories were sad and MMK worthy. I learned to be a good listener because that’s what I can only offer to our clients. My heart always broke when I talked to old people living all by themselves and still working just to provide for the needs of their relatives in the Philippines. I’m sorry but I always tell them to spare some time and value themselves; that at some point in their lives learn to think of themselves first. Let me share to you that we work non-stop almost no sleep but most of them DO NOT complain because they have mouths to feed, they have kids up to grandkids to bring to school; they have relatives that need medical attention and so on and so forth. Filipinos in the Philippines always thinks that it’s easy to earn money abroad that’s why they don’t change they only know how to ask. Do they even ask their providers if they are okay? If they eat already? How’s their day after work? Well, I hope they do. Because it is sad living/working away from your loved ones. We are not millionaires’ abroad stop the norm of asking money and useless stuff for show-off. Stop teasing us to treat you to this and to that. Stop telling us “BIG TIME KA NA or DAMI MO NANG PERA” because it is not true if we have too much we are not abroad working like there’s no tomorrow. Stop saying bad things if you didn’t get any “pasalubong” if we have vacations in the Philippines. We only go home to spend time with you (family and friends) and most especially we go home to regain our strength and our drive to keep us going.
