Day of election is fast approaching. Political dirt has been continuously throwing at each candidate. I, as one of the million voters in the Philippines have been watching the circus happening in our country. Having this privilege or power over a democratic country is a nerve-racking experience. I admit when I was younger; a college student and first time voter I was of those “BOBO-TANTE” I didn’t mind who to vote too. I don’t give a damn who’d be the leader of our country as long as “sabi ni ganito, sabi ni ganyan” vote for this person because I know him/her personally; vote for this one because he/she has been an existing leader of our place. They would always say that if you’d vote for the new candidate things would not be the same as it were in our place and yet we ask for a change; how contradicting. CHANGE – yes change, which is what we need to improve the state of our country. But before we ask for a drastic change in our country wouldn’t it be nice to start that change in ourselves. We strive to have big changes in our county yet we don’t do it personally. How are we able to change the situation of the Philippines if we know for a fact that we cannot follow even a simple traffic rules imposed in our society. I know things are not as simple as I think or say but it’ll be easier if we have discipline. We could vote for someone who is clean AF according to her record but lack of experience. We could vote for someone whose intelligence is greater than dictionary & encyclopedia and knows alot about our country. We could vote for someone who really has a dedication to serve our country yet failed to show it to us due to dim-witted political party/marketing strategy and abuse of power over government's resources. We could vote for someone whose veterans enough to know the in and outs of politics yet has pile of controversies and cases against him. We could vote for someone who promised us that crime rate and corruption to be ended within a period of time with his "kamay na bakal". Whoever wins the highest position in our country will not succeed on changing the Philippines if there are a lot of disbelievers instead of supporters after the election. Your bet could probably not win but for the sake of our country you should do your part and start changing within yourselves and development will follow accordingly. I’d seen Filipinos abroad we follow rules according to each country's law, so why can’t some Filipinos do that in the Philippines? I don’t generalize the lack of discipline in the Philippines because I know there are a lot of Filipinos who are obedient enough to follow our laws and for those people please continue on what you are doing and inspire others for the development of our county. So before the final judgment for the candidates happen. I would be doing my research on who (for me) will fit the position of being the new leaders of our country. Whoever wins, I as a Filipino citizen will follow his/her authority for the betterment of our county. VOTE WISELY FELLOW FILIPINOS. The power is in our hands. PS. If I have grammar lapses feel free to correct me. Thank you.
