I truly have a lot of distaste for her using foxes as props while she poses in lingerie and asks for donations with said photos.
There’s nothing wrong with posting photos of yourself in lingerie for any reason, but wild animals really don’t need to be used as props in photo shoots meant to be provocative. It gives the message that you truly see them as status symbols and objects more than you see them as wild animals, and it is a major issue for a sanctuary to be promoting that message, even unintentionally.
No reason to carry a baby fox in one of these besides the fact that she personally finds it cute to do so. This is a very uncomfortable position for most quadrupeds because of how much of their weight is being placed on the back of the hips and spine, so carrying any fox like this is fully about mikayla thinking it’s cute and nothing to the benefit of the animal.
She still has the jackal isolated from its own species and is instead letting it interact freely with dogs and fox pups. I must stress that dogs, foxes, and jackals ALL have different body language cues and social needs. They may play together yes, but there will be many misunderstandings and lack of respect for one another’s boundaries which can lead to serious bites.
Asking your followers to donate to get you new shoes because you let wildlife run amok in your house is tacky. Using the same donation pool for your new shoes as you allegedly use for fox care is EXTREMELY shady for a “non-profit” to do, especially since I KNOW they’re writing off all taxes for whatever they choose to buy.
I do love how the woman who gets thousands of dollars donated to each and every individual post she makes is just openly admitting to using the “cheaper” alternative to safe fencing, which is just a means of saying she’s admitting to cutting corners because I can almost promise the vast majority of the funds she amasses is not going towards animal care.
She’s an animal hoarder through and through. Anyone who’s ever had, or at least attempted, to own one horse knows how expensive these animals are on their own, and she owns multiple. Plus sheep. Plus the dog. Plus the cats. Plus the foxes. Plus the minks. Plus the jackals. Plus whatever else she’s keeping without making it public. And on top of that she’s paying for a child. There is absolutely no way she’s giving all of these the proper care they require when much of her funds don’t make it to them. How do I know this? Well she’s stated before that save a fox is her full time job. I don’t think Ethan works anymore either beyond “animal care”. Which I find very interesting since she and him seem to make a LOT of very expensive purchases.
Ethan collects sports cars. While a Miata isn’t that expensive by sports car standards, you still need about $30k for a low end Miata. That’s not a lot for someone with a dual income full time job, it is however a lot if your non-profit and donations are the only source of income you have.
She also genuinely wants to buy an island. And is serious enough to want a link to one that costs $975k. I don’t know if she’s actually going to try to buy it or just wants to stare longingly at the listing, but I do know that this is not something even remotely in the realm of possibilities for someone running two sanctuaries that are supposedly non-profit.
All of this said, I cannot stress enough how much you should not go to her comments to say anything against her. It financially benefits her greatly, her fans will never recognize what you’re saying as true, and she will just consider it “hate” even when it’s genuine concern.
