it's VERY funny to imagine AVA 9 happening while Alan is still stuck with Agent though... that random hollowhead kid that's able to draw living things? Yeah that one's Alan's, please don't hurt them

it IS... but it. also leads to a whole ass arc.

... which i still need to fully figure out, but.. like. basically... when the mercs receive the picture of Chosen and the order to capture them, Alan realizes who that is. and is. hesitant and unsure... which, by proxy, makes Pivot. hesitant and unsure... even more than he already was.

Pivot... doesn't really want to interact with Chosen much. he's got therapy for it, but.. still. and Alan, well... feels like what victim wants to do with Chosen, would be... repeating what's already happened. like creator, like creation...

not to mention how Pivot is hesitant for other reasons, as well... Alan's. presence has made him rethink his relationship with vic.

starting to notice a few things, that didn't sit right with him... that originally he had brushed off, but... now he can't stop thinking about them.

making him unsure, he doesn't know how to feel... but he's starting to have vic at a distance.

and vic's very worried about that...

Do Victim and the other mercenaries notice Agent acting weird? Any of them suspicious on what’s going on?

yes. yes they're so worried. something's wrong with their friend/partner/relative...

victim: they're worried he's going through something... he's not getting enough sleep. his memory isn't as good, literally walking around at night, seeming to be completely awake, only to have no memory of it in the morning... and also. becoming more quiet.. reserved. not leaving his quarters as much... they asked him once if he was okay and he said he was, was just having sleep troubles but they just KNOW something is wrong. he's not okay...

Ballista: it's very worried. this is not like him at ALL... and it knows him. it's known him for YEARS, the longest out of all of them. fyi they're cousins in my hc, and Pivot kind of raised it in a way.. so. yk. also that thing is like 13-14. so.

Primal: also very worried.. they don't know him as much as vic and Ballista do, but still... he's refusing nights out when normally he'd accept, acting odd around everyone... seeming to hide behind his glasses more than usual, and even while his resting face is a frown, there's something... different about it, now... seeming more. lost in thought. distracted...

Sign: admittedly the least worried out of them all. is just there for the job, that's it... and Pivot said it was something personal, so who is he to pry? just suggests maybe talking to someone about it, since it's clearly eating away at him...

but they have no idea what's actually going on. they just think he's going through something. which is true! he is VERY going through something right now... just not what they'd expect. and he hates every second of it

Alan trying so hard to not draw attention to himself but he's constantly emitting negative emotions. Fear, shame, guilt, loneliness, homesickness, concern for his kids, etc.

he's... he's really trying. and thankfully Pivot doesn't really feel them, since they're ambient emotions... only really feels it when it gets Bad. you don't want to see them when one is Freaking Out. god forbid BOTH. it's. it's bad. like really bad. like really really bad

Before Pivot learns who he is, he might mention having people back home that he needs to get back to (the computer sticks) and that he's worried about them. Pivot would be able to feel his genuine care and concern for them.

Then Pivot learns who he is. He knows Alan was telling the truth about caring about those kids, and maybe Alan even said when he got them (years after the incident) but if he could change for them then why couldn't he have changed for victim?

yeah.. he's. he's a little mad to say the least SKSHSBS

why couldn't he have changed for victim? why couldn't he have never been like that in the first place? what was wrong with him to do that to someone?

... he was young. and going through things. and needed an outlet. and it's not an excuse but it's a reason.

he knows. he wants to say he's better now but he's not sure if he is. he never is sure. it eats away at him at night.

good. it should. but don't let it eat into his own sleep schedule, got it? he needs sleep too, you know.

At least the misunderstanding that Alan was working with Chosen during those attacks can be cleared up!

If Alan didn't even know about the attacks and this is how he learns, that could be interesting. Cause he's definitely gonna blame himself even if he wasn't directly involved because he still created Chosen and messed them up.

due to the time period this takes place in, the worry of him having taken part in the attacks is still there (vic is paranoid and has trauma), but is unfounded. and honestly, Pivot wouldn't. trust Alan if he said he wasn't part of the attacks– sure he. never saw the cursor there but.. but still.

and yeah, i imagined he. never really had any idea about the attacks.. otherwise he'd have been. a lot less likely to help Chosen out in the Showdown... and yeah. he would SO blame himself.. his fault, even if indirectly...

Pivot can just. feel the guilt bleeding into him. normally he doesn't really feel anything from Alan, but... this is just. too strong. and he can't help but feel like some of it is his own...

(it is. he always feels guilty when talking about the attacks..)

The computer sticks might know he's not a cursor if they can see through the screen like in canon, but the idea is still funny.

If Purple and Mango never actually met him but saw his afk cursor once and got told "that's Alan" then they might think that they're looking for a pet cursor. And not realize that Alan is a human and their dad basically.

They get informed later though. The sticks might want to stay with the two a bit while waiting for Alan to come back.

Congrats Mango, you just went from being a father of one to being a temporary(?) father of six! Good luck! (He'd get along with Camilla from The Owl House/j)

admittedly the reason i said that there might be some cursor confusion is because i thought it would be funny if most sticks just thought they were looking for a lost pet cursor SKSHDH

also i'm. honestly still deciding on if Alan would let himself be visible through the screen.. in my stuff, there's this thing called Stick Settings that computers with sticks have on them.. and it's basically like. the permissions sticks are allowed, and also a sort of. sliding bar that changes how visible the user is to the sticks– from the screen appearing like just another wall of the desktop, to there being like... a silhouette of the user (or like. something like a vtuber model), or the user as they really are...

i actually have an old image of if MT and Purple were to go onto ALANSPC. and. well.

no idea if i ever posted it but. MT only knows of cursors that live in the outernet, while Purple is. well. they had a religious awakening while on their computer. crawled into the webcam and. well. :/

i'm getting off-topic. anyway

yeah, CG probably would stay with the two... they've been without Alan before (he's not there ALL the time.. and emergencies happen, too), but this is.. different yk? feels odd... they probably left a note on ALANSPC though, in case he returns and finds them gone..

the only good thing about this situation is that now they're free to explore the outernet more, even if they have to use nether portals to get to it.. since. fun fact. this takes place before ava9. like two or three months before. the optimal time for Pivot shenanigans

Alan might try to interact less and just hide after that. He knows that Pivot hates him now and he can't really blame him for that. The most he can do now is try to avoid reminding Pivot of his presence by doing nothing.

Doesn't work because Pivot can feel the constant shame and regret from him. Pivot hates it so much. How could someone do something so monstrous and only realize later how messed up it was? Couldn't he have regretted it sooner?

But he can't do anything about it, not without great risk to himself.

(I could be wrong here, I'm just speculating)

yeah... he does that. doesn't want to bother Pivot more than he already is... doesn't want to be here at all, and he knows Pivot doesn't want him there either...

So just... lay low.

and Pivot DOES hate it so much... cause not only can he feel the guilt and the such, but... it bleeds into his own feelings, if it's strong enough... which it Is... especially when Pivot is with vic...

you'd be upset if your partner was being tortured by something that never even realized they were alive until years later, too.

The PC sticks would be so worried when Alan disappears with no warning. He can't be on vacation, there's nothing on his schedule about it and he would've said something. They probably start to panic after a few days.

They might tell Mango and Purple that their human dad disappeared without warning and that they think something bad happened to him. They thought of him as invincible and now they're not sure anymorem

they WOULD be... and would probably go around asking, yeah... showing pictures of his cursor...

... well now i'm just imagining. them showing some city sticks a picture of his cursor. and then them thinking they mean they're looking for a lost pet cursor SKSNHD so silly.... love em

but YEAH... he just. disappeared... where'd he go? they might have even asked Chosen about it, but they have no idea either...

Pivot might also be angry at Alan like "you're the one that tortured and traumatized my boss/friend?!?What the fuck?!?"

And he feels a very intense wave of shame and remorse from Alan.

yeah probably... probably also angry. he probably. almost went and just told vic, but then Alan stopped him like 'no nonono please don't you know what he'll do to me'

To which Pivot would just scowl.. don't use my own fucking voice. i don't want to hear it.

And he'd feel himself flinch, and then his mouth move on its own– voice tearful and shaking–

"If you turn me in, those same things will happen to you. please don't"

...

and that would make him pause.

'cause... that sounds plausible. that sounds like it could actually happen.

and only then, would he get Scared.

How do Alan and Pivot communicate?

can't communicate mentally with each other, but can feel each other's emotions...

usually just by writing, or by talking to each other verbally. if they're around people then one will maybe just very discreetly try to mouth something with a closed mouth and hope the other gets the idea. but mostly they just shut up when around others

don't fully know if you mean 'when he finds out who the guy stuck in his body is' or if you mean 'when he finds out who Noogai is', but if you mean the former...

not quite mad... moreso. uh. terrified!

so, so, terrified!

he knows what vic wants with Noogai. he has heard their plans for it.

and if they aren't able to separate themselves before vic finds out... well.

it's bad for BOTH of them...

for if he were to give up Noogai (Alan), then he'd just be cutting off his own head and handing it over on a silver plate.

What were the initial reactions of both Agent and Alan to that entire thing happening?

Alan was confused... didn't know where he was, didn't know WHO this was...

didn't recognize anyone here, even though he can tell they're sticks...

... although, when he learns the file name of that winged grey stick, he...

becomes very, very nervous.

While, for Pivot... it's. scary but also relieving... at least he's not. dying or anything!

he's... just trying to figure out a way to get this person out of himself... but he doesn't really know much about that sort of stuff.

... he does wonder... why this person won't tell him their name, though. or even give any sort of nickname.

and also seems to be terrified of vic... not letting him ever bring them up around vic...

it's... confusing, and makes him worried, but... it can't be that bad, right?

at least there's no way it would be vic's creator... that thing's a human, after all!

for the body swapping au, do Agent and Alan take turns with the body? If so, who has control of it most of the time?

they do not! it's moreso... Pivot has primary control, while Alan can kind of. go completely limp in a way. not physically, but can like... just let Pivot go about his day.

Alan... admittedly tries not to do much, and when he DOES do stuff, it's at night, when Pivot is sleeping... he doesn't want to get caught. doesn't know how to Pretend.

but they're able to sleep at different times! it's healthiest if they both do it at the same time, but they don't have to. but not doing it at the same time will give symptoms of sleep deprivation. NOT good for Pivot's work... is bothersome.

Pivot doesn't know why his sleep hasn't been as restful, recently... but he'll power through it. he's been through a LOT worse.
