So I’ve seen people talking about recommending stuff to fellow lifters, and here’s been some stuff that’s worked for me:
- Foreo. OMFG, my skin feels amazing with this thing. It. Will. Change. Your Life. I think it unclogs and sorts out pores before they get blocked up with stuff and get gross, and if you regularly wear a full face of makeup, it seems to get rid of little bits that sink into the skin.
- Mario Badescu drying lotion. I still get breakouts, and I love this stuff, and it’s drastically reduced the severity of said breakouts. Dot it on before bed, and wake up with less angry-looking and swollen, not to mention smaller, pimples.
- Hourglass Veil primer. The SPF 15+ one is amazing, and is a lovely base, not to mention, the SPF has saved my skin from sun damage.
- Nice socks. Seriously, it’s such a little thing, but having nice, soft, well-fitting socks makes you feel like a million dollars when you get dressed. I personally love Calvin Klein ones. And I wash them in lingerie bags so they don’t get knocked around too much in the wash, and stay nice.
- Brite Organix hair masques. These make my hair smell nice, and so soft and gorgeous that I think they’ve mitigated a lot of the damage I’ve put my hair through. You can get them for a variety of hair types, too.
- Nice undies. Again, like the socks, maybe people won’t see them, but I am a firm believer in having comfortable, properly fitting, good quality, and yes, matching bras and knickers. Total game changer for me. I’m not really a fan of the impractical/itchy/ones with straps all over the place, but you can get really soft, comfy and gorgeous high-end lingerie, and it will make you feel like a goddess who can take on the world.
- Nice stationary. “Nice” is a matter of taste and personal style, but if you have nice stationary, you’re more likely to use it. Have a planner you like, cute inserts, and nice pens to write with, and get your shit in order. Get cute thankyou cards, and remember to write thankyous. Get blank cards for “just because” occasions to cheer up friends and let people who need to know that you care. The art of personal, handwritten letters is dying off, and it’s one of those little things that makes the recipient feel loved and cared about.
- Makeup brushes. I never used to get them, but the difference they can make to your makeup routine and application can be huge. Get good quality ones that don’t shed hair like a cat in summer, and you won’t have to worry about picking hairs out of your foundation after you’ve applied it. I love Real Techniques, personally.
- Fresh fruit and veg. Honestly, it feels *good* to eat crisp, fresh, delicious and healthy fruit and veg. And it’s good for you.
- Scunci hair ties. These are soft, nice quality, and long-lasting ones that are gentle on your hair and you can never have enough of them.
- Lipstick Queen Invisible Lip Liner. OMG, this stuff, you guys: I haven’t seen anyone else mention is, and it’s amazing. It will beautifully define your lips no matter what skin tone you have or what colour lipstick you’re wearing, and it keeps it in place for ages and stops it feathering and smearing everywhere, especially if you’re eating. And it cuts down on you needing three hundred different lip liner colours or trying to find one specific one if you’re in a rush while getting ready!
