the dressing room sales associate at TJ maxx was a fucking BITCH today oh my godddd.
she was so anal about the dressing rooms. she counted every personās items, KEPT TRACK and would ask (i heard her pestering some families) where certain items were if people were walking in/out of the rooms. iām so glad i concealed the thing i wanted to steal under a jacket instead of just piling it all up and praying the SA wouldnāt count (my usual sloppy method).
ANYWAYS, i walked in with three hangers (MK jacket and two random items) and let her count. by the wayāshe insisted on TOUCHING each of the hangers. donāt even know what purpose that served, because i was still holding them. whatever. while i was in the dressing room, i did my usual detagging of the target item, when all of a sudden i heard her STANDING OUTSIDE OF MY ROOM TALKING TO ANOTHER SA. she said āiām going to search the rooms after thisā and the SA (mustāve been new) said āoh for pieces people left behind?ā and the woman goes āno. for tagsā
(i had left my booster bag in the car like an idiot and was gonna do my usual method of leaving the tag on top of the mirror until i heard that. hopefully she didnāt see my hand slowly reach up and take the tag off the top of the mirror. lol.)
thank god i had picked that micheal kors coat as a decoy. i zipped the tag into one of its pockets. my target item couldnāt fit in my purse, which was stuffed with too faced makeup (incl. a chocolate palette which iām psyched about!) so i left the dressing room, told her i was ājust getting my coatā from the cart iād left outside the room, and brought it into the fitting room.
my coat is huge and puffy, and worked perfectly for concealing my target item inside it when i folded it over my arm. i collected all my things, made sure i didnāt look sus, and left the room with my three hangers (making sure the button-up iād brought in was fully unbuttoned so itād look like i had tried it on. yeah, i was meticulous.). told the woman, with a smile, āhereās my three. i wonāt be getting these two, but i will be purchasing this one.ā

left the dressing room area, put the coat back on the rack, abandoned the cart that was full of other shit i wanted to lift, and instead just headed straight for the doors and towards my getaway car. smiled at the other VERY NICE sales associate who wished me a good day on the way out.
FUCK THAT DRESSING ROOM WOMAN! i was gonna get my bf some nice clothes too but we COULDNāT. and she had the audacity to tell me she liked my haircut. bitch.
anyways, the silver lining of the story is thatāin addition to a shit ton of too faced makeupāi did steal my target item without a hitch. and i havenāt yet named it because i wanted to do a grand revealā¦
honestly, i probably wouldnāt have even taken it if she hadnāt made it so HARD FOR ME TO SHOPLIFT. fuck that SA. just let me commit crimes in peace. smh.
