Widow is the least favorite child😭😭

actually soooo real lmao. i'm not sure it's established who put the pins in widow (gms or citadel) but i refuse to believe that even if it wasn't gms, certainly if she liked or trusted widow enough she would've had one of the silken children remove said pins.

My designs for the girlies <3 I love visual story telling so ofc they had to reflect the changes over the game.

ACT 1:

This is the most bare bones for each. Hornet only has her cloak and needle. I like the idea that her cloak was made from her mother's orginal cloak seen in red memory.

Widow design focuses on the wear and tear she taken over the years. The pins embed in her have bad scaring and at time the wounds reopen. Her claws have also endured deep cuts from playing the threads non-stop.

ACT 2:

Post Widow fight Hornet knocks Widow out and looks for a way to restore her mind and tend her neglected wounds. She gains the faydown cloak. The feathers fluff up the cloak and gain the more dress like look in game. Hornet also at this point has regained her own strength so she more put together.

Widow has to be binded in Hornets silk to heal her shell. Hornet enlists the help of yarnaby to remove the pins placed in Widow in hopes of preserving her ability to make silk. The surgery was a success but the time it will take for Widow to recover her strength, let alone her silk production is up in the air. In the meantime Hornet looks to get a mask for Widow to regain her mind. She hopes gain more information on the citadel above (and the weavers once here).

ACT 3:

Hornet now fully reflects her journey in Pharloom. The spared of void has made the lands colder. The fleas as a final parting gift tailor Hornets cloak and lines the insides with their fur to further warm her. They also allow for the fay feathers to more easily take flight make Hornet more agile. She weaved a silk body suit to protect her from the void. The silk is weaved with runes to protect and bind.

Widow with her mind regained feels indebted to Hornet for her kindness. She speads much of her early recovery bitter at the loss of her skills and fragile to most harm outside bellheart. Late into act 2 and early act 3 she recovered enough to hunt again thanks to hornet's silk. She briefly parts from Hornet to go on a personal hunt to truly regain her own power. She seeks out the craws to fight and sharpen her skills. She stands trail before the crawfather and emerges with pelts to sew into a new dress.

She takes some of the bells in the vains around bellheart to use for her own. Her silk is limited at the moment so makes do with her old weapon of choice.

Figuring out Widow. Her leg game is insane

Getting back into Silk song and doodling my frist pass at Widow and how her pins work. Hcs under cut (slight spoilers for end game):

I think early generations Weavers have more of their orginal body while later ones look more like GMS body.

The abdomen is server for little more than silk storage as the silk glands and all other organs have been moved up to the chest and abdomen. The orginal spinnets still function and can spin but the newer set is the "main" one to produce silk. The slik glands have been increased in size and moved to the back along the torso sides. The pins are punctured in a criss-cross to spike each gland and prevent production.

The metal plate on Widow chest you can barely see is there to hold the pins and prevent them from falling out from movment. I imagine there a some kind of lock mechanism to further keep them in. Either way it need skilled hands to remove with any chance of recovering the glands. But also insuring no other organs are harmed in removal.

I do believe the pins were placed by GMS as both a punishment and way to clip her wings and hold on to her. Without Silk Widow is forced to relay on her claws and body for safety. I wouldn't doubt her staying up at the peak of bellheart is just as much about safety as it is guilding the silk threads. Her body worn down from the frantic playing of the strong threads slowly cutting her shell and without silk to bind she just in bad shape.

In a timeline where Hornet spared and saved Widow, Hornet have to supply the silk needed to heal her. The mask would also need to be commision on Hornet end as Widow would not be in a sane enough state to be reasoned with or talked to.

Once sane and aware, Widow be very embarrassed about needing someone's silk for herself and make a point to help Hornet however she can to replay her. She also become very stubborn about accepting help in her recovery as the idea of not being able to do something as simple as produce silk to heal herself is humiliating and a massive loss of control.
