Hi there! John here. I’m an artist/designer and internet historian.

The internet has become one of the only ways for me to connect with my home country, Venezuela. I left about 10 years ago, and ever since my memories of it moved online, as it happens to many other migrants in similar situations.

Re-imaginación de Caracas digital (collage, fotografía) Encontré una pintura que me llevó a descubrir a Francisco Vadillo, un pintor español que llega a Venezuela en 1967, enamorándose de El Ávila. De cierta manera me identifico con su obsesión por retratar sus nuevos vecindarios. Y por efecto, me pareció apto retratar esos entornos que ya no recuerdo utilizando fotos de mis entornos aquí en Finlandia. El 75% de los recuerdos de menos de 30 segundos son falsos. Algo No cuadra.

How could I grasp what happened from so so far away?

Sueñopolis continues to exist, the longer I live outside my home the worse my memories of what was become.

Like dreams, they escape me the more i think of them. I’ve been working on this one for a few weeks now, and i’m very happy with the result! I would LOVE to fill up a room with these sounds, and let people bathe in the eeriness of forgotten childhood memories.
