Took this baby out for its very first test drive today. It was a little tentative while digging out dandelions in the garden, but really hit its groove while creating trenches to plant asparagus caps. It complained it was tired after digging a hole for a tomato and a few for kale, but I ignored its pleas. Then, upon being asked to dig out two thistles from the lawn, this trowel declared that this was a bridge too far on day one. It simply gave up, and snapped. ‘No more thistles!’ It declared loudly. Then it cut off its own head and laid down, spent. ‘But I have to weed the strawberry patch!’ Said I. ‘Your strawberry patch can choke on an eggplant emoji 🍆’ declared this trowel. Shoot, I think I accidentally went vegan! #OCH24 day 2 dinner. For Owen & me, carrot sticks & ‘risotto’ made with the vegetable stock I made day 1. With margarine & 1 onion. Total cost: $0.51. For Jen & Andrew, broiled pork chop with faux-Caesar-salad (real bacon & grated cheese). Total cost: my goddamn soul. Also, $5.43/portion. Check out link explaining this all in my instagram bio! We’ve slept outside for 24 Hours, Shlomo pied the mayor, we,be highlighted youth voices with our #RealityCheck week - now on to phase 4 of this year’s @ochottawa reality campaign - the $24 challenge #OCH24. After all other expenses, the average youth we see has only $24 a week to spend on food. (One of the many reasons OCH has a drop-in breakfast service.) Here, @lyndatfranc @missleahhxo and Owen are shopping with me @gianttigerstore on Merivale. Super-cheap onions, carrots & knockoff KD! Challenge starts tomorrow and goes for a week! There are a few highlights in Apollo’s year. There’s fresh-snow-deeper-than-I-am-tall day, which comes around two or three times. There’s something-in-the-backyard-is-dead day, more of a rarity but always a highlight. He’s also a big fan of the-neighbours-are-smoking-weed day. But no day in the year comes close to the excitement of new-bag-of-food day. This time around, new-bag-of-food is actually a three day festival, until the old bag of food is gone. That means three solid days of anticipation, and three days of standing guard over this most precious bounty. We will check in with little Apollo in three days time. We did it! The 15th (and best ever) #OCH24 is in the books. Shlomo hit his goal of $10,000, and will get to pie Mayor Watson! Ottawa Tim Hortons franchise owners (led by Howy & Shelley of Shlomo’s own Tim’s) have kicked in an additional $10,000 to his fundraiser. And, after the kickoff event of the month-long reality campaign, we have ALREADY hit our fundraising goal of $30,000! Thank you so much to everyone who participated, donated, and boosted our message! Our Christmas table centrepiece (if I get my way). #TbyTheTree faces off with the Peter Criss Hello Kitty KISS figurine. Says T, I was once in a show where I played TS Turner. I investigated stuff for a generic blonde lawyer. The plot of every episode was that I wore a suit, then at the end I took off my suit jacket and defeated the bad guys by throwing a motorcycle at them or something. Now I’m a ceramic head. Says #HelloKittyCatman: I am the embodiment of the worst member of the worst band of all time. A member who was booted by Gene Simmons, and yet here I am, repping his character, as a vinyl testament to The hubris, ego and overwhelming greed of that same Gene Simmons. Robert, from our competition Quebec-side radio station, was given an umbrella by @piscinestrevi. I complained, so they gave me a whole pool! Turns out that even at a $2K discount, you CAN still negotiate at the Open Door Super Sale, on until 5:00 this afternoon (and then done. For real this time.)

Josh started drinking, and it took three cups of the potion before he was noticeably affected. But we're not leaving @piscinestrevi without that horcrux! Keep drinking!
