Oh how I love to Stencil. Some of you have taken short classes with me on how to get worn or 3D look! Just think what you can do quickly with the Original Chalk Paint, our Annie Sloan of course. At least it’s quick and sets well fir washing. I will put my hands up and say I tried a few faux Chalk Paints I was given by a client for a project she wanted be to help with, but I was worried it was not as durable! It was not and had to redo! Now I can’t draw, I can paint anything, but draw! Hmmm! However, painted the canvas 4 different colors with Annie Sloan Paint, very textured. Then cut up some of the new Iron Orchid Designs transfers that we have just got in, and only a few left I might add! I used White Wax over the entire picture afterwards because I cracked the paint! Wanted to bring this home, but that would have been naughty of me! Have a lovely Sunday. Nigel and I are working on final layout for our Junk Refunk Street Market and hopefully get a chance to take in the Sunny day this afternoon. Lauren is at it again lol. Will post our finished canvases! Not used the transfers on canvas that was textured before with Annie Sloan paint, however the Iron Orchid Design sisters did a marvelous job! Last part of bedroom refresh. Dresser looks so much fresher in Annie Sloan Pure White, which by now you must of guess I just love lol! Fabric chair was horrible as chair had been in barn for years. Painted Arles first, thickly! Then Graphite, used hair dryer to crack it to show Arles a bit that now makes it look like old leather, it’s cool look. Then wax of course. Stencilled in Old White. Guest bedroom. Still got back wall but don’t know if I want to shiplap, faux brick,or what! Something is missing to me. Anyway side tables painted on Angie Sloan Pure White and clear wax.Goodwill hat boxes paint Pure White with transfers from the Iron Orchid Designs range. This part of the bedroom is finished. My little fireplace actually belonged to my grandparents who bought this in early 1970 in London. It’s an electric bar fire and still has the original Uk plug, of course I can’t or dare try it! Knowing me it would blow up!!! It’s painted in Annie Sloan Pure White and sealed in White Wax. Sitting on top is two fenders of a fireplace that was found by my dad after a bomb hit London during the war. They were turned into lights. Again can’t use them here, but I love them and what a story could be told. Lampshades are painted in French Linen and Pure White. The French Market Bag I sell in my shop. That’s the trouble, things come into the shop and I sneak them home! Continuing with the repaint in the bedroom, this was painted in Annie Sloan Pure White and dry brushed in Paris Grey and White Wax. I think it’s my fav so far in this room. What do you think? Hello Monday! We have been in our new build house 4 months now, still getting use to new house. I think I will always miss older homes of Uk, but, nevertheless I don’t miss the upkeep at this stage in my life. Last weekend I repainted all our bedroom furniture Annie Sloan Pure White, including the fireplace you can’t see in this picture, along with the lamp base, plant pots.Headboard is Pure White and dry brushed in Paris Grey.Cushions on bed were plain white and I copied one I had already and painted on the fabric Napoleonic Blue stripes, lol! I told you, I really do paint anything. 😂 I am Lazy really, want everything yesterday, so Annie’s paint is super quick for me. Just to remind some of you, Chalk Paint is just what Annie branded her paint over 27 yrs ago because of the feel of it, not because it is chalky! It’s confusing now with so many others. Her paint luvs is a unique formula and so durable with the wax. One of my fav Mews Houses in London. Won’t be long and we will be back there and hope to take a stroll around some of the lovely streets. I like all the greenery, of late I am going mad in our new house with it! Not all real I might add, keeping plants alive is not easy for me. I think I drown them. 😬 We are open 10 to 4 today.
