@chianna2908
If I hear the “master key – lock” argument again I’m going to lose it.
I was watching a video about double standard and in the comment section some idiot was very insistent in presenting the argument in every comment that barley mentioned the double standard of the "high body count" for men and women as a sort of checkmate.
I lothe this argument
1) It’s sexist
2) It's a stupid and sexist argument because people are not objects and women have agency in choosing their partner
3) Even if it wasn’t sexist and stupid (which IT IS), it’s still a stupid and incorrect analogy: in a more correct version men aren’t a “master key” but a simple key with a specific set ridges and notches and those are the qualities of the person (be it personality, appearence, hobbies, charm, ecc…). If the ridges/notches of your “key” metched the ridges/notches of the "lock" (the woman in this horrible analogy) than the key can open the lock (i.e. sex, a relationship, ecc...)
In this more correct analogy, women “with a high body count” aren’t a “locks that can be opened by many keys”, but “locks that can be opened only by a key with a specific set of ridges and notches which can be in your possesion or not”
not allowed to say Harry Potter, but what was your book series obsession as a teen
mine was definitely Eragon
I never had ONE single obsession. In my early teens (12-15) it was an italian series called "Cronache del Mondo Emerso"
My late teens (15-17/18) added "Hunger Games", Trudy Canvan's "The Black Magician" books (the trilogy + The Magician's Apprentice) and the book "Fire" by Kristin Cashore (only that book not the whole trilogy)
Sprinkle in the occasional month long obsession for some children series (like the Deltora books or italian series Fairy Oak or the french Tobia books)
Your are the monarch of a historical/fantasy kingdom, who perished many years ago and your name is only written down in recorded history, know only to future generations.
Out of the 130 options in the picker wheel here (all are gender neutral),
What do you think of your epithet/nickname/sobriquet?
I love it!
I hate it!
What did I do?!
It's alright
Could be better
Could be worse
I got nothing
And yes: there is a 'no epithet' option in there.
I got The Oathtaker.
