Final Assignment
For my final piece, I focused on complementary colors and shapes. We intentionally used complementary colors for our second assignment of the semester. On my canvas, I used purple and yellow for the background because they complemented each other. On one side, the colors fight for the space on the canvas. On the other side, they seem to work together. The foreground consists of different shades of red and green because, again, they complement each other, but this time, they are from different magazines.
Those colors are also special for this work because they don't only merge with each other they are all in different shapes and are a collage. We focused on collage and shapes for our Cubism assignment. Using this technique and different shapes gives my piece more structure. All the colors fight for space but also merge, mix, and layer.
