Has no one ever written Ron's aunt Tessie as Lucretia Black? I have looked all over and can't find anything.

She fits the position according to the Black family tree and what we know about Ron's family. Plus being a Black, especially a girl and one of the younger in her generation, owning a coastal house with her husband would be normal. Plus Tessie leaves Bill the house, meaning it is unlikely she ever had children - something Lucretia and Ignotous also never had.

The most valuable piece for this argument I find in her name itself ... Tessie isn't really any kind of name... While there are a few with it, it is more often a nickname. And people LOVE nicknames that don't sound anything like the real name during the time when she would have lived : James=Jim, Richard=Dick, William=Bill, ect.

Anyway, she plays a part in one of the chapters I'm going to be working on and the thought occurred to me that I have never seen this particular naming trope for her.

I swear why do all my brilliant ideas have to come when I'm trying to write other stories...

I just had an idea appear of Harry in POA having the confrontation scene with Sirius, Remus, and Severus in the shack and thought - huh, wouldn't it be really interesting if one of these adults (all of which failed this boy in some regard) discovered and took Hermione's time turner in that moment.

This led to a couple additional thoughts:

1. The finder goes back in time and sets things right. (Basic... Bordering on boring, but can be fun with the right twists.)

2. The finder goes back and Harry tags along, however due to paradox issues they have to raise Harry themselves, fixing the past while also avoiding paradox holes. (Much more interesting)

3. The finder (likely Sirius as he is impulsive), realizes this is a once in a lifetime chance - and after telling Harry about Peter, forces the time turner around his neck with a kiss to his forehead, the secret of the Godric's Hollow address in his hand, and a command/wish for him to live well, sends Harry back alone in time. (Extremely interesting... Picture a little 13/14 year old Harry showing up at his parents house and the truth of what will happen along with a lot of the trauma baggage I crave that never seems to show up in fics... This one could be really interesting! It also doesn't follow any of the plotting models I have seen in 'Harry meets his parents' stories along with the ability to still fit the 'prophesy' requirement trope that is basically a must...

Idk... one might become a thing at some point 🫡

My HP fics are making me frustrated... I am one who can't move a plot along until I have all of the major plotting done - that said I have two major ones that have been running circles.

1. I have already written, posted, and then edited the first chapter to accommodate the very major change of it being a singular character time traveling to include instead the entire golden trio. It was supposed to just be Hermione but then I started reading a lot of Harry centered fics and rather than planning ANOTHER time travel fic to accommodate everything I wanted for it, I decided to have him join. I considered adding Draco but dropped him as Regulus does well as a fill in for the points I wanted to cover with that character archetype. That left me with the issue of Ron.

I don't necessarily dislike Ron - but I felt like he deserved to join the other two on this journey and now I have NO idea how to write him or his personal journey on this story. I don't relate to Ron on basically any level... And so I feel stuck plotting out his chapters.

2. My Harry and Regulus time/space displacement fic... I have all the major beats down... My issue is just the point of entry and how that affects the story. I'm version a. Harry arrives during 5th year just after Sirius has fallen in the veil. This gives it the mystery and teenage emotional angst I wanted... But it muddles the plot a lot. I'm version b. Harry is caught during the gringotts raid and subjected to a punishment by the goblins (who have their own rules). In this way I circumvent many of the plot issues that version a has and allow a very easy flow for the story. However in version b. Harry is older and a bit more mature in his thinking, and so it strips him of a lot of the teenage angst I really wanted to explore in this fic...

Needless to say it's making my brain really hurt. I have all this free time to write, but anytime I try to get my fingers to work I just keep coming back to the issues in the plot for both of these stories and I don't know what to do.

Drow-  In a race that has a traditional, set look, I really like to play with variance in skin tones, hues, hair colors and textures so as to highlight the genetic diversity that would be present.  I like to give assumed features like the generic elf ear unique shapes and tilt and unless two characters are related, I really try to push that distinction so that a race that can tend towards blandness feels broader, more interesting, and more realistic.

These are some characters from probably the best D&D game I’ve ever played.  The elfess with the facial scar is Lilith, and I played the guy with the big spider-shaped scar on his chest, Zyrus.  I wanted to play an underdog type character and rise up through the system, so I went with a very average looking male in training to become a wizard.  He was rude, blasphemous, ambitious and insensitive, and just a blast to play.  He got involved with Lilith, a priestess of Lolth and it went about as well as a heathen carrying on with the zealous acolyte of a murder-godess can go.

I’ve always loved Drow for some reason, so this game was right up my alley.  It was a lot of fun to design a world that is so different from traditional, pristine fantasy.  Thinking about how a matriarchal, evil society (and later a matriarchal good society) would realistically work was so so fun, and I still plan on doing some more art with actual armor at some point in the future, especially since Lilith was such a boss.

I told myself I wasn't going to take the Meta Magic feat for my warlock Deimos. Because the GM warned about consequences if I do. But I really couldn't resist to have this powerful upgrade!

So new update! Deimos/I now accepted this new Meta Magic gift/alteration from warlock patron Vannatir. This drawing is about the moment where Deimos got the Meta Magic feat unlocked in-game.

Usually in our DnD campaign when a Vannatir scene occurs the other players leave the table so that they don't know what Deimos and Vannatir discussed. But this time the other players stayed at the table as this scene was happening. I was genuinely like "It's normally not THIS eldritch!! It is more like court intrigue usually! Not tentacles. ;____; I swear!!!"

Vannatir: "This is but a taste of sharing in all of my power for our eternity."

my friends are questioning the fact I consider myself aroace spec. I don't really see why its their business but for some reason I feel the need to explain myself, I am on the spectrum. yes I date people, but I feel attraction in a non typical way, I am demi-romantic and demi-sexual. its not their business to have me fully explain why I feel the way I do, its easier to say aroace spec then to explain how complicated and guilty the feeling of love makes me feel. it takes me so long to know someone, even then I've fallen in love with people, maybe once? its only ever a gained feeling, I find it extremely hard to be genuinely non satirically romantic with someone. I cover up all my vulnerability with jokes and nervous laughter. I struggle with the idea of sexuality to the point of nausea and the idea of relationships makes me wince sometimes. aroace flux. demi. whatever you want to call it, its on the aroace spectrum. today is my day too and my identity is just as valid as anyone elses. I feel like I'm allowed to identify as such. its not a crime. no identity will ever fully fit a human, we are not meant to be put in boxes, but they give you comfort, community and security. That is allowed.

A little Snape doodle for your Sunday evening/ Monday morning

I did him a bit young here but still pretty moody... This wasn't what I had intended to draw at all, but I recently reread the ending scene of OOTP where Dumbledore was telling Harry about the prophesy and admitting complacency in Harry's ongoing abuses... And I just thought to myself, after all that I really wish that Severus had really laid into Dumbledore when he found out about Harry's fate. Unlike most order members, Severus was pretty much in the know about everything almost all the time. He needed to be and was able to hide it from Voldemort due to his skills with occlumancy... But I have felt for a while now that he backs off to quick in his frustrations with Dumbledore due to the guilt Dumbledore lords over him. He may not have cared for Harry himself, but had sworn a duty to protect him in his mother's name. To have that effort dashed like that on top of knowing everything that the boy had gone through... I just feel like people would emphasize more with him as the complex character he was if he had fought harder in that moment. Without it, it becomes hard for canon Snape to deserve the respect he ultimately gets from Harry... If he had fought for him I think more people would see him as worthy of it.

Anyway those are the thoughts that led to this bean. And while I love the typical renditions of the characters - I wanted to try his new series look for this one. Personally I see him as Latin, Greek, or Persian in appearance in my head ... But other versions are fun as well.
