You cannot tell me Romeo and Carlo were not "something more than friends" with Romeo saying "Everything will be okay if I'm with you, Carlo" alongside aaaall the romantic subtext there is in the chapter, with the human who is in love with the puppet telling you "maybe you will fall in love someday too" and Lady Adelina dropping you a vinyl called "Fascination" with the description "Have you been in love? Wishing to go back to the time when it was just the two of you?"
