Osamu Dazai :

- would sacrifice the world for you

- to him, a world without you would be a world without any hope

- someone important to him already left him, and he’d rather go through all the layers of dante’s inferno and back than lose you

- he’s a very selfish man, and even if he’d live with the guilt of destruction, at least you’re here to keep him sane

Chuuya Nakahara :

- would sacrifice the world for you

- you’re the most humane person he knows, how could he crush that

- you make him feel things he thought he never could, you are his world, and if he lost you, everything he’s worked for would come crumbling down

- if it came down to you and the world, he’d choose you without hesitation, no second thoughts or regrets

Fyodor Dostoevsky :

- would sacrifice you for the world

- not for the sake of a good world, but for the sake of his ideal world

- you’re not exactly replaceable to him, but you’re also a pawn to his own disposal if it comes down to it

- you’re an extra extension to his life he convinces himself, not something necessary in order for him to keep living

- as a hunting dog, he swore to protect those who are innocent, he reasons out that your loss is the world’s benefit, oddly enough he feels empty, something he’s never felt before

Doppo Kunikida & sick reader! (requested)

— So, Kunikida doesn’t think too much of it when you’re gone the first day. I mean, it’s strange you don’t leave a note, but.. Maybe you’re simply busy with personal matters? Then day two passes by, and you didn’t leave a single note or message or email to anyone at the agency

— Instant panic mode ™️ “Oh God, what if they’ve been kidnapped or injured? Or worse???”

— The first place he thinks to check is your home. You don’t answer your door, but he hears the loud groan from inside when he knocks.

— So, with a hasty “I’m coming in,” he damn near breaks down your door.. to see you, sprawled out on the couch with empty takeout boxes, tissues, and some pill bottles scattered across the floor near you

— Your poor face is flushed and feverish, and you look so miserable.. you can barely open your eyes to look at Kunikida

— His heart almost stops at the sight of you :(( He can’t not take care of you now, ruined schedule be damned! (Even if it does make his heart ache to think about all the work he’s missing,,)

— Kuni’s a whirlwind, tbh. He fixes up your living room in under 5 minutes, even dusts a little.. And then when that’s done, he’s crowding around your space like a mother hen

— “Hush, you idiot. I can’t believe you didn’t even think to message m- Anyone in the agency! Clearly you can’t take proper care of yourself in this state.. Just be silent and let me take over from here, understood?”

— He’s a sweet pea, he makes you herbal tea and hot soup to soothe your sinuses and your throat.. Kuni is a big fan of natural medicine (and he also wants to cook for you, but shh)

— Still, he makes sure you take medication that you need… All those pill bottles on your floor were a recipe for disaster if ever there was one

— He checks your temperature by pressing his hand to your forehead or cheek.. His heart melts when you lean into his touch with a pleased hum

— Stop! You’re gonna make his heart break if you keep being so precious >:( Kuni can’t focus on his obvious feelings for you rn, he needs to take care of you!!!!!

— Doesn't leave your side for even a moment. If you need privacy, he’ll be standing right outside the door of wherever you are or turning away to face a wall, but he won’t leave you

— He’s just there with you all day, nursing you back to health and giving you his undivided attention which is undoubtedly rare for him

— The day ends, and your fever’s gone down quite significantly… maybe you’re too dazed and sleepy to notice, but Kunikida is heaving a sigh of relief at this

— Still he insists he stay the night, just in case. You don’t seem to mind, and before long you’re laying in bed, passed out as Kuni dozes in an armchair in the corner of the room

— Maybe tomorrow morning you’ll both be well and calm enough to talk about how Kunikida treated you less like a coworker and more like.. Something else. But in that moment, you were both getting some well deserved rest.

It was Ranpo who had insisted that Fukuzawa get an assistant. As the young detective had said: “After that whole Cannibalism virus scare, Prez needs someone to help ‘em handle all the work that’s piled up!”

And so after careful consideration from each ability user in the agency, you were chosen from the countless busybodies that were already employed under the agency's name. It came as a bit of a shock to you, for you had never actually spoken to Fukuzawa before; sure, he was your boss, but that was merely a formality. The person who’d hired you had been a man by the name of Kunikida, but you’d never interacted with he or any of the other ability users beyond giving them a glance as they made their way from the bottom floor of the agency all the way to the top.

Getting used to working alongside Fukuzawa rather than below him was something that took weeks, perhaps even months for you to do. You were always by his side, though you looked far less intimidating than he did. Your work usually consisted of sifting through the tougher cases that the agency was assigned, and reading through letters and other mail addressed directly to the president. Sometimes, if the work called for it, you and the prez would go out to meet informants to help you along with these cases. You were there, always the helpful one; finishing work that the President had used to do alone before with ease.

Over time you began to see Fukuzawa’s true nature shine through his stoic facade; he was a kindhearted man who showed a particular gentleness towards stray cats and young children. He cared very deeply for those who worked for and with him, and on top of that he seemed extremely opposed to murder. It surprised you for some reason to find that out, since from what you had been allowed to see he seemed so skilled with a blade. Perhaps you had judged him a bit too quickly based on appearance.

It was inevitable really, falling in love with Fukuzawa. He was wise, gentle, and soft towards everyone who he was close with. You couldn’t help the way your heart sped up when he showed that kindness to others. Perhaps one of these days he’d give that warmth to you? Oh how you hoped he would.

(And unbeknownst to you, Fukuzawa had begun to feel much the same. You were a hard worker who took each and every job he entrusted to you in stride; no matter how difficult the work, you got it done with time to spare and didn’t complain at all. Aside from that, you were respectful and borderline familial towards Fukuzawa’s other employees. He didn’t miss the times where you would chat with Kyoka during lunch breaks, or the sweet treats you’d slip to Ranpo during meetings. You weren’t as sneaky as you thought you were, but that was all part of your charm to him.)

It took over a month for you to realize your feelings for Fukuzawa, and after a rather oddly worded pep talk from Dazai you swore that you would confess. You wanted it to be the right time, but somehow it just never was. Most of your days at Fukuzawa’s side consisted of doing your job and having minimal conversation, the quiet peaceful whilst you worked. Today however, it was nothing short of suffocating. You just wanted to say it, to tell him-

“I think I’ve fallen for you, boss!” You blurted out, slapping a hand over your mouth as your face flushed two shades darker than it usually was. Fukuzawa looked over at you from where he was seated at his desk, his eyes glued to you as you forced yourself to stare down at your feet, bowing apologetically. You felt sick to your stomach. Why had you said that so suddenly? The boss couldn’t possibly view you in that way, no. He’d fire you right then and there once he found the words, you could feel it. You felt the tears beginning to sting at your eyes. If you cried in front of the prez, it was all over—

“Ah, how embarrassing.. I’ve been meaning to tell you the same for quite some time already, but it appears as though you’ve beat me to it.”

The air left your lungs in a soft exhale of surprise, eyes shimmery with emotional tears. Fukuzawa stared into your eyes, his expression completely sincere. You inhaled, exhaled, and inhaled again as your brain racked itself for a proper answer to your apparently requited feelings before finally settling on what you thought was an adequate response for the situation.

“What?”
