When Liesel’s literature teacher announced the spelling test, Liesel was, in truth, absolutely indifferent.  This class is as easy as breathing air, to her, anyways. To be honest, she was borderline excited.

Her other classmates, however didn’t look too happy. One boy had his head in his hands, and another girl was frantically scribbling away at her note- book.  All of a sudden, Liesel felt a  tap-tap on her shoulder. She turned, and whispers quickly (for fear of being caught),                "What do you want?"

A spelling test---- that was absolutely dreadful. English in any way, shape or form was Chihiro's sworn enemy, & she could not properly do a spelling test. She was bound to get detention for sure, & she could only imagine how disappointed her parents would be when they found out. The strange western letters swum in front of her eyes & off of her notebook, creating an almost dizzying effect.

The young girl took a deep breath. This was the one subject that she hated, the one subject that she would ever fail. Therefore----- no, she had no idea where this conclusion was going. It wasn't helpful in the slightest. Then Chihiro remembered who was sitting in front of her: Liesel Meminger, the best English student in the whole class. Words lilted with her accent, whispered in hushed tones.

                  "Please, can you help me?"

        she is mumbling & grumbling under her breath,         the force of her words almost enough to create         a small storm cloud over her head. it is hard work,         as haku had promised, but she would have liked it         a bit more if lin didn't seem so grumpy all the time.
