How To Draw Better In 2 Minutes
I expected this to be a troll video about sacrificing your soul in exchange for art skills or something but this was actually very informative.

u just wait I'll...I'll survive P3 somehow >8I
I'LL IMPRESS YOU FOR ONCE-- (still haven't beaten overclocked coughs)
I pre-ordered Omega Ruby today, plan to pre-order Dragon Age Inquisition when I got more money in the bank, bought The Last of Us after watching a complete playthrough (loved the story so much I wanted to actually buy and play it myself--bonus finding out there's multiplayer) and then James kindly informed me that some Persona games and the Digital Devil Saga is on PSN SO I GOT PERSONA 3...
And now I'm downloading P3 to MAYBE start tonight. I don't have a lot of time to game or draw, but I don't work until 6PM tomorrow (closing shift though man...) so I got SOME time...before I work my doubles again startiiiing...on Wednesday if I'm lucky enough to avoid a double on Monday (got Tuesday off from one job).
But yeah games man.
And art though I don't like the art I'm doing right now upon further inspection so MAYBE NOT ART...
Been forgetting to submit these as I do the pageant on DA for IZ OCs. First theme was swimming suits, then food then gemstones.
I might not continue 'cause reasons tbh but hey, might as well update tumblr uwu
Speaking of different body shapes. These are all basically peak human bodies.
How come 99% of them don’t conform to what the entertainment industry tells us is the perfect body?
This is a FABULOUS set of body refs. So glad this came back across my dash so I could reblog it here :D
These images are from a book by Howard Schatz of various Olympic athletes, which was titled “Athlete.” You can buy the book [here]. Also, have some more photos from it:
When it comes to creating characters, sometimes it’s easy to let them slip into the same old stock standard set of body types. Basically clones with a few props, hairdos and make up to spice things up a bit. After a while, having the same actor play dress up for every character gets kinda boring…
It’s tough to break the habit too, especially when you’re taught a single set way to draw. Not to say having a solid construction method is ever a bad thing, as long as it doesn’t confine your creativity.
Check out these nifty tips and pointers by jeinu to give each of your comic book characters their own a unique flavour of memorable originality.
(To download these at full res simply hit the options menu and click download, otherwise head on over to jeinu’s DeviantArt Tutorial Gallery at http://jeinu.deviantart.com/gallery/25335623/Tutorials )
This is important, and something I super need to improve on. All these tips and stuff for drawing are crazy useful and very, very appreciated.

So my historical costuming resources list from 2011 was less than a page long- I’m not saying that I’ve learned a lot in the past three years, but this list is now sitting pretty at a solid nine pages. Whew. And people wonder why I want to redo this damn series.

The tutorial of how I achieve watercolor effect in Sai! :) I highly recommend using real watercolor paintings (your own or ones found on the internet) as reference.
And here you can find a few useful links:
You can download the Sai file of this picture here: link

Redid a post by fucktonofanatomyreferencesreborn with sources because they never source anything and I don’t want to reblog that post because I don’t want to support blogs who don’t give credit to people
(No, stating that the art is ~not yours~ and ~came from elsewhere~ IS NOT PROPER CREDIT. Many of these have usernames and such on them but not every single one and you still ought to link back to the specific piece)
I couldn’t source the last one so I didn’t include it.
I’ve had the question pop up a couple times asking how I colour, unfortunately I only have the process of a 2012 piece D: I still pretty much use this process now so it still applies lol. Apologies for the copious amount of spelling/grammatical mistakes <: B Sidenote: check out skoptsy<3 she is the queen of values<3 *A * and needs all zee love <3
So I got a question on ‘how to avoid sameface’ and thought I could do a quick tutorial. And then it took way longer than I thought. Whoops.
Anyway uh, these are some quasi tips/pointers/methods I use to avoiding the dreaded ‘sameface.’ I didn’t get to add it in here, but a lot of it is confidence.
Also—keep in mind that ‘sameface’ is very, very subjective. This is just how I, personally, do it—other artists might have different ideas in character design. I’ve still got a lot to learn myself!
ALSO I TALK WAY TOO MUCH IM SO SORRY
