by now, he thinks he’s stopped crying. suga’s kept his cool for the most part, numbly walking away from one of the WORST experiences of his life. he ignores the slightly strange looks he receives, because who exactly walks down a crowded sidewalk in the middle of a day, sporting a tux and swollen eyes? to those who could have been able to guess it ( perhaps his expression just screams i just got left at the altar ), suga felt those pitying stares that tore a hole in him.
he can’t stand them; he’s starting to feel the terrible, prickling sensation of tears burning their way up to start pouring down, a lump growing in his throat. suga wills himself to walk faster, covering his mouth with his hand while he tries to navigate through the crowd. quiet, solitude: it’s all he needs. suga ends up disappearing onto a familiar path he thinks he must have taken often before, breathing a shaky sigh of relief when he sees pink willow trees, enclosing a space away from the rest of the world. he doesn’t think; he just instinctively moves towards it and sits heavily down on the ground, burying his head in his hands. what did he do to deserve this?
nostalgia washes over daichi as he’s traveling down a familiar sidewalk. it surprises him how most of the campus scenery has remained intact in the last five year. so much of everything is still the same. in fact, he almost feels as though he’s 21 all over again—except now, he’s not rushing sleep-deprived to his early morning econ class, nor is he feeling crushed under the increasingly overbearing pressure of having to find employment.
thinking back to the number of consecutive interviews he’d attended leaves him feeling wistful, but in a good way. the kind of way you can only feel when you look back with a successful career and stable income under your belt. he can only smile now because he knows the fire that’d been lit under his seat from anxiety paid off in the end. looking at the mobs of students around him now, heading off to class or discussing weekend plans, he can only imagine many of them are in those very shoes now.
he’s getting ready to draw his trip down memory lane to an end, feeling sufficiently old when a gaggle of girls give him weird looks as they pass by, when his eyes catch on a flash of pink. a sudden gust of wind sways the bright branches of a willow tree, and his heart starts to race with recollections. even their the tree is still there. as he gets closer to the trunk, his skin can’t help but prickle with heat as glimpses of fair skin and strands of silver run through his mind.
and then it hits him all at once— what he’s seeing isn’t just a memory.
brows furrowed, daichi slows as his eyes narrow with concern at the figure slumped over on the ground. although he opens his mouth, his throat feels tight. he only realizes a beat later that the name is caught in throat because he doesn’t want to be right. still, he draws in a breath and tries again if only because he’s never known when to step away.

“Oh, Sawamura.” Kuroo motions to door behind his back, looking over Daichi’s appearance. It took him only a moment to put the pieces together and grin. “It appears same as you. Escaping the drunk herd?”
Kuroo didn’t drink often. Sure, socially he’d have one or two weak drinks, but he honestly didn’t like the feeling of losing some of his inhibitions. All he did was make people mad because he lost the ability to tell when to stop provoking someone. So usually he ended up designated ‘help all the drunk people’ friend, since they rarely drove around here.
“I think we were dragged along to play baby-sitter to their drunk asses. They know I don’t usually drink. I’m assuming you don’t either.”
”I don’t think I’ve ever craved freedom so badly,” Daichi groans, running a hand through his hair. With so many people crammed into one room, he’d ended up sweating inside. But to top it all off, the movement only causes his beer-drenched shirt to cling to his chest, and he grimaces. “Why a load of twenty-something year olds need a babysitter is completely beyond me, honestly. But you couldn’t pay me to go back in there anytime soon.”
Finding a place next to Kuroo, Daichi starts leaning against the wall himself. “I can enjoy a drink or two, but I don’t make it a habit to get completely wasted, no,” he replies, wrinkling his nose. Kuroo, on the other hand, seems completely put together. More so than him, anyways. “How’d you manage to come out unscathed? I didn’t even see you sneak out.”
I mean I used sugas?
TRUE... i guess i was just nervous cause a lot of people tend to come up with something other than a character’s full name... but i mind as well use what i have!!
do you think it’d be weird to use a character’s name as an rp blog url...

he’s not sure why bad luck’s decided to hit the both of them today, but it did, and suga’s starting to feel like his face is burning from all of the heat rushing into his cheeks. honestly, it’s a library and if anything the couple’s getting even louder.
“…d-daichi? can we…i mean…. they’re really quite loud. can we just study in your dorm?”
“Yes, please,” he sighs with relief. Thank god Suga's ready to leave, cause Daichi’s not sure how much more eavesdropping he can handle. It’s beyond difficult to focus when it sounds like a porno just two or three shelves away from you. Daichi starts gathering his things together in a hurry, intent on just dumping his belongings into his bag for once if it means they can get over of there faster. “Ready?” he asks once he’s managed to sling his bag over his shoulder.
Sugawara smiled at Daichi’s inviting arm, almost immediately scooting closer to him. “Of course.” His own arm draped over Daichi’s side as his head rested in the space between his chin and his chest. “Is this comfortable?” Being this close to Daichi was odd. It felt nice regardless, but there was a first for everything.
Once Suga drew closer, Daichi’s arm naturally came to rest around Suga’s waist. It was... different feeling Suga’s weight against him, but not at all uncomfortable. “It’s perfect.” His reply came immediately, before he could really wrap his head around what he’d just said. But it’s too late to put the words back in his mouth, so he’d just have to own them. “The question is, are you comfortable, Mr. ‘Should Have Been Sleeping Hours Ago’?”
college !!
( college-verse starters; 24. we’re studying in the library and there are two people very obviously fucking in the stacks and we keep sharing embarrassed glances )
They were supposed to be studying.
With exams just around the corner, the two of them had agreed that the quiet nature of the campus library would lend itself to creating an environment conducive to learning cramming. Boy, were they mistaken.
In his defense, Daichi had no idea when he suggested they sit here that they’d be this close to rhythmic thumping and—oh god, was that moaning just now?
With a cringe, he chanced a peek over at Suga sitting across from him to see how the other was faring.
College, ayyyy
( college-verse starters; 17. we live in halls opposite each other and I keep seeing you changing through your window )
He doesn’t mean to stare. Scout’s honor.
It’s really just a coincidence that the times he looks out his window, for whatever reason, tends to coincide with the very moments that his neighbor is changing. It’s not like Daichi could predict when he’d find the other undressing, right? He’d certainly never describe himself as a peeping tom or anything.
So why is it that he’s sweating bullets when he finds said neighbor standing right in front of him when he answers the door?
“Oh, I…”
And he can feel the a million words threatening to come out any second now: ‘I swear I didn’t mean to, I’m so sorry, it’ll never happen again—or, I mean, it’s not like I did it on purpose before, but—’
However, the more sensible part of his brain kicks in with an ever eloquent “Hey…?” If it comes out sounding confused, well… That’s because he is. But he does try his absolute best to fix on a grin and appear casual. “So uh, how can I help you?”
Glancing over at Daichi, then to the wall behind him, then back to Daichi, Sugawara made a face.
“Mm. Not yet.” He tightened his lips before scooting a little closer to the other, staying quiet for a moment. “Is it okay if we try cuddling or something?” Suga asked this quietly, hoping that he didn’t just ruin everything at the moment. Having physical affection was something that he really wanted and needed at the moment, and to have it from Daichi would mean a lot to him.
“Only if you want to.” He adds on, making it known that he’s not trying to force him into anything.
"You’re not even going to try?” Daichi chuckled nervously, but it quickly fell short once he heard the way Suga’s voice grew smaller. Realizing his own nerves were starting to get to Suga, Daichi felt the growing urge to get over himself. So it’s with a smile that he nodded, lifting an arm to invite Suga closer. “You coming in then?”
College
( college-verse starters; 8. all our friends are drunk )
Really, he should have seen this coming.
“It’ll just be a few close friends,” they’d said. “We’ll grab a few drinks and turn in early,” they’d said. But lo and behold, Daichi’s stepping over piss-drunk half-strangers (friends of a friend of a friend?) to squeeze out of the stuffy karaoke booth.
“Geez,” he sighs once he manages to shut the door behind him. For the first time in hours, it feels like he can actually hear himself think. He’d told the others inside that he was going to the bathroom—someone had spilled a bottle of beer all over him in their carelessness. However, he couldn’t have been more thankful for the excuse to leave the room. In fact, now that he’s standing out here in the calm, the idea of just going home is starting to sound even better—
But of course, things just can’t go his way. Daichi only manages to make it halfway down the hall before he’s stopped in his tracks.
“Kuroo?”
He knows he’s not doing anything wrong, by any means, but he can’t help but feel as though he’s been caught in the act anyways. Damn his sense of obligation.
“What are you doing out here...?”
