"I found you"

He laughs a little, turning to look at her. “I wasn’t aware I was hiding.” He pats the patch of roof next to him. It was rather peaceful here, and he liked it. It allowed him to think clearly; the air seemed cleaner up here, the skies a little bluer. And the view wasn’t too bad either. Especially now that Gain was here.

He waits for her to settle herself beside him before he leans over and puts his head on her shoulder, giggling. “It’s sorta nice up here, isn’t it?” She nods in response, a quiet smile on her lips.

“Mmhmm… it’s beautiful up here.” She was gazing at the sunset before them, each colour blending into the next. Even in this world, there was beauty, if one knew where to look; luckily he didn’t have to look very far.

“It is beautiful, yeah… but it’s only half as beautiful as y—” This earned a playful shove from the woman, and he laughed at her reaction, the blush appearing on her cheeks very well worth it. “It’s true!”

She shakes her head, unable to hide the smile from her lips. “You’re far too sweet to me.”

He shakes his head with her, putting an arm around her as he settles  himself back into a comfortable position near her. “On the contrary, I don’t think I’m yet sweet enough. We’ll get there eventually, though.”

And another shove sets them laughing all over again.

“GIVE THAT BACK!” Oshi pounced at Gain, whining as she laughed and held the little book aloft. “Give it back, it’s mine, I keep it hidden for a reason!”

“Oh, why’s that?” Little giggles fall from her lips as she keeps the book from him, bouncing about the room and narrowly avoiding his grasp again and again. “What dirty little secrets are in this book, hmm?” She goes to open the soft cloth cover of the journal, and within moments finds the book lost from her grasp, and herself pinned to the floor.

“Noooouuuuuu.” Oshi is half-pinning, half laying on her, and he blushes, moving to get off of her smaller form, and within seconds finds himself pinned instead. The blush that had been already present on his face deepened even further, and he squeaked quietly. “Please don’t read that…”

“Hhh… Alright. But just because you said please.” She laughs softly and sits up, allowing the very red Oshi to sit up and rub his cheeks, trying to rid himself of his embarrassing blush. She reaches over and grabs the book off the floor, handing it to him with the cover closed. “Though I hope you know, now I’m even more curious than before~”

“Yeah,” he grumbles, averting his eyes and taking the book from her hands, holding it close against her chest. “It’s a secret. Okay?”

“Eh? What happened here?” Oshi catches Gain’s forearm, blinking as his eyes scan over a bruise just below her shoulder. Did something happen? The shape is familiar… four long lines and then a large splotch… almost like…. A frown forms on his lips as he adjusts his hand on her arm to match the shape, but she shrugs him off before he can confirm, averting her eyes.

“It’s nothing, Oshi.”

“Nothing?” It wasn’t like her to so easily dismiss him. He quickened his pace, trying to block her exit. “Hey, hey! That’s not nothing. Did someone hurt you?” She doesn’t answer, still averting her eyes. A little frustrated noise escapes him, and he takes her hands gently. “Don’t push me away. I don’t like seeing the people I—” He clears his throat. “I don’t like seeing my friends get hurt.” Oshi pulls her closer and, despite her previous reactions, she does not resist; so he holds her closer and hugs her gently, leaning over to press a kiss to that bruise.

“Now please, tell me what happened…”
