My father told me of a morning

in the eastern Sierra’s. 

I know these kinds of things

wants to make his eternal return. 

Look at these saw ridge peaks, 

dappled with timber and snow, 

and you will know too. Calm, 

quiet air: crisp and clean. This

is church. Here, you can breathe

deep and easy; surely, the light

comes more than once.
