Can we appreciate the attention to detail?

They really gave the thought and effort in designing the logo for the Idol Awards in it’s 2008-ish era and transform it in how it would be redesigned today. I mean, in the past logo, they really included the title and star element as a whole, with its characteristic golden and black palette from the early 2000’s. And for the actual logo they really simplified it to its minimalistic form, such as we are living with so many minimalistic redesigns right now.

Here you can appreciate them better. I just wanted to give a shout-out to the whole team of the movie, especially for including so many well-thought details even if they are shown for like .3 seconds.

EDIT: hold up, I just realized something. Celine dressed baby Rumí with a sleeveless dress…. Did Celine applied makeup over Rumi’s patterns for the red carpet OR did the patterns appeared when Rumí was a little bit older?????????

Every work I read so far on ao3 portrays her as some diabolical figure. Coldblooded and cruel. Willing to hurt Rumi and the girls, or to exploit her in some manner.

Guys

This is not the woman who can hurt her daughter in cold blood

This is the woman who's mad on grief and fear. This is an absolutely broken woman who have no fucking idea what to do.

But most importantly, this is the woman who, under any circumstances, will absolutely never lay a finger on Rumi or even point a weapon at her.

Since the very first day of having Rumi, she understood that this girl could - and probably would - be a problem.

And she is: it's because of Rumi the previous Honmoon was undone

Honestly, Celine had to do Olympic level mental gymnastics to not just outright kill Rumi. And then she had to justify it to herself everyday since.

This is the woman whose entire purpose in life was to protect Honmoon.

And now she is watching, seeing as it comes undone. She is being told that it's Rumi's fault. By Rumi herself. And she is told that if she isn't putting an end to it right now, the Honmoon - the barrier maintained by generations upon generations of hunters, herself included - will be gone and demons will flood the Earth. A very literal apocalypse.

And this is still not enough for her to harm Rumi.

This woman loves Rumi so much, that she will rather see the whole world devoured by demons than to let Rumi die.

And she fears it, and she hates herself for it. And she is trying to come up with just about ANYTHING to fix it. Lie to Mira and Zoey, lie to Rumi, lie to hereslf, conceal the patterns, do anything to fix this.

Because killing Rumi is not an option.

I will go further.

If we imagine a scenario, in which Rumi abandoned her human part and became the full demon. Mira and Zoey are trying to stop her.

I am absolutely sure that Celine will shred any reason and will fight Mira and Zoey. She will be crying, she will be begging, she will try to lie to them. Anything.

But she will be fighting, protecting Rumi.

And I still think that she is horrible. The way she has been raising Rumi? Everything traumatic and insecure in Rumi? The very shame Jinu exploited?

All of that is Celine's fault.

Her methods towards Rumi were wrong.

But her intentions were not.

Whichever character designer at Sony Pictures Animation decided to give Mira, who is basically designed to look like a model, big round wire-framed glasses and somehow look even hotter wearing them deserves cool pillows and coffee at just the right temperature for the rest of their life.

I feel like with all the excitement about Rumi being half demon, I think we need to remember the fact that she's also half human. Like, for every cool demon trait she has, there's a -1 aura reduction because she's also human. Fast healing abilities? Awesome, but her pain tolerance stays the same as a normal person. Super strength and speed? Cool, but it's not advised she try jumping in front of speeding cars thinking they'll stop.

One time post-movie Bobby (who is now in the know re demons and Rumi's identity) gets three texts from Mira in quick succession. The first simply states that they'll have to postpone dance practice that afternoon. The second is an image of Rumi curled up on the couch looking positively miserable, her patterns actually a sickly shade of green. The final one states: "My loveable dumbass here figured that since she can eat raw beef with no consequence that the same logic would apply to raw chicken."
