Pairing: Jungkook x Reader
āKookie Kookie Kookie!ā I chant and open my front door.
With a huge smile, I run up to my -now very muscular- childhood friend and nearly tackle him in a hug.
āJeez, (Y/n)! I couldāve fallen!ā Jungkook says chuckling. He returns my hug and runs his hand through my hair. āYour hair is so long now!ā He says pulling away to look at me. I puff out my cheeks noticing the differences. āWhatās wrong?ā He asks noticing my annoyance.
āYouāre taller than me..ā I mutter quietly. Jungkook just laughs.
āI mean, it has been ten years since weāve seen each other in person.ā He says.
āWhatever. It wouldnāt be this way if you hadnāt gone to study overseas.ā I grumble.
ā(Y/n), even if I had stayed in Seoul, Iād still be the same height as I am now.ā He says.
āShut up.ā I say glaring at him. He simply raises his hands in the air with a giggle. āAnyway, are you ready for this weekend?ā His eyes basically start sparkling, causing me to smile.
āCamping weekend! Woo hoo!ā He hollers loudly.
āJeon Jungkook, shut your big mouth! My niece is sleeping!ā I scold and smack him on the arm. He winces.
āSorry.ā I roll my eyes and sneak through the house and past her bedroom, gesturing for Jungkook to follow. We make it into my room and I sit on the edge of my bed and Kookie takes the chair by my desk. āSo why is your niece here? Babysitting?ā
āBasically. My sister asked me to watch her this afternoon while she went to work. She got called in unexpectedly. Sheās picking her up tonight,ā I explain while playing with my bed sheet. āAnyway, so tomorrow, weāre meeting here?ā He nods. āAnd youāre bringing what again?ā
āIām bringing the stuff to make food. And youāre bringing the tent and the sleeping bags. Any preference on what to eat?ā He asks pretending to hold a pad and pen like a waiter.
āHmmm. Iād like the filet mignon with creamy potatoes and a side of your finest broccoli.ā He nods and pretends to write down my order. āIām just kidding, Kook. You know Iāll eat anything.ā
āYou got it. A pile of dirt with some crickets on the side.ā He says with a wink.
āOkay, not anything, but you should know what I meant.ā I say rolling my eyes.
āIām just messing with you, dear. Now that thatās settled, what else should we bring? Or should we just wing it and only bring food and shelter?ā He asks.
āWell, I donāt wanna hike with too much, so why donāt we bring food and shelter and find something to do there. We could hike to the waterfall.ā I wonder aloud.
āI like that idea.ā He agrees.
āOkay, great!ā I say with a smile. I glance behind him at my desk noticing an old picture of the two of us, causing me to giggle. Jungkook follows my gaze and picks up the frame. āWe took the day you were leaving. I was really upset about it.ā
āI can tell. Your face is bright red and there are boogers coming out of your nose because youāre crying,ā he teased. I lean over to punch his shoulder, telling him with my eyes to stop. āSorry,ā he chuckles. āWell, Iād better go so I can go shopping for food. Go ahead and start packing so you get everything and you arenāt rushing,ā he stands and walks to the door. āDonāt forget anything, okay?ā He stops in the doorway and smiles at me.
āWhat?ā I ask with a smile. His smile grows slightly.
āI really missed you, (Y/n).ā He leaves and once heās down the hallway, he yells, āIāll see you tomorrow!ā
ā(Y/n)! Iām here!ā I hear Jungkook call from outside. With a grin I start dragging my stuff out to my car where Jungkook is already strapping stuff to the top of the car.
āHi Kookie!ā I greet. He smiles at me and gives a small wave. I bring my stuff over to my car but before I can lift anything, he takes it out of my hands and straps it up for me.
āIāve got this. You go pick some good music for the drive.ā He says picking up the rest of my stuff.
āOkay,ā I say hopping in the passenger seat of the car. I unlock my phone and flip through all my music to find some things we both like. By the time I find some good music, Jungkook seats himself in the car.
āReady to go?ā He asks. I nod and we drive off towards the woods.
When we arrive, we put on our backpacks and begin our hike. Soon, we reach our campsite and we attempt to figure out how to set up our tent. Eventually we are able to set up what could pass as a tent. Though there is a small hole in the screen but, I believe we can survive the night.
āSo now what?ā He asks stepping back from our tent.
āWell, we could go explore. Want to do that? Maybe weāll stumble across that waterfall.ā His eyes brighten and he nods.
āYeah! Letās do that!ā He says seeming very excited.Ā
Together we hike off, following the sounds of the waterfall and using it as our guide. When we make it there, we see that the fall pours into a very large lake. I point to a cliff that is over the lake and we grin.
āLetās check how deep the lake is then weāll race to the top,ā Jungkook says before stripping off his shirt and starting to slide off his pants. I canāt help but stare at his abs. He must feel my gaze because when we lock eyes, he smirks. āLike what you see?ā
āDonāt be cocky.ā I grumble before peeling off my shirt, leaving me in a sports bra and shorts. Now itās his turn to stare. He clears his throat and walks into the lake, swimming around to see how deep it is.
āOkay, I think weāre good.ā He says. āNow just let me get out and-ā
āLast one to the top eats ass!ā I scream as I start clambering up the rocks to the cliff. Jungkook is hot on my tail, but I make it up first. The only problem is, I didnāt realize just how high up it was.
āDonāt think, just jump.ā Jungkook says noticing my hesitation. He inhales and leaps off, doing a canonball into the lake.
Why hasnāt he come up yet?
Jungkook finally breaks the surface of the water and laughs. āWoo! What a rush! Come on and jump!ā He says smiling up at me. His smile gives me the confidence to jump, so I follow his lead and canonball too. I come up immediately and laugh.
āThat was amazing!ā I say happily. āLetās do it again!ā We both share a laugh and climb back up the cliff to jump again. Jungkook does a flip and I swan dive. āThis is so great!ā I say with a laugh. āGot one more?ā
āHell yeah!ā We get out of the lake and climb back up. āReady?ā He asked with a smirk.
āFor wha-JEON JUNGKOOK AHHH!ā Jungkook lifts me over his shoulder and leaps off. When we come up, I glare at him and he just laughs. Right when he opens his mouth, I splash him in the face.
āYou. Did not. Just do that.ā I splash him again. He smirks before sending a wave of water at my face. I duck under the water and grab his ankles, yanking him under. When he comes back up, he growls. āHow dare you?ā He asks trying to mask a laugh. I stick my tongue out at him and swim to the shore.
āI donāt know about you, but Iām hungry, so you should make me food.ā I say triumphantly. I go to put my shirt back on, but all of our clothes are soaked from our splash fight. āAnd Iāll make the fire to dry our clothes.ā I mutter. He nudges me, grabs his clothes, and starts walking back to the campsite. I run to catch up, slightly shivering as the sun sets.
We sit by the fire together as we watch our clothes dry, the food Jungkook had cooked was eaten and enjoyed. āWanna go ahead and set up sleeping bags?ā He asks glancing at me. I nod.
āYeah. Let me get them out for us.ā I say unzipping my hiking bag. I pull out one and toss it into the tent before going to look for the other one. āUm..Kook? We may have a problem..ā He walks over to me and glances over my shoulder.
āWhatās wrong?ā He sees me clawing through my bag. āDid you leave the other sleeping back in the living room?ā I sheepishly nod.
āSince I messed up, you can sleep in it. Iāll be fine just sleeping on the ground.ā I say gesturing to the tent.
āNo, watch.ā Jungkook goes into the tent and unzips the sleeping bag to make it into a pallet for us both to sleep on. āThere. Now we can both sleep on it.ā He says smiling at me. āNow, Iām ready for bed. We can leave the fire going so itās not as cold.ā He says before laying himself on one side of the sleeping bag. āNight, (Y/n).ā
I smile softly before laying down next to him to where were facing away from each other. I shiver slightly, still cold from my damp clothes. I subconsciously curl into Jungkookās body heat, keeping careful to not touch him. He turns over and sighs. Knowing him, heās probably close to being asleep already. I turn over to face him and I see his cute face at peace. Over the ten years where he was overseas, we would video chat at least once a week to keep in touch, but seeing him this close in person makes me realize how mature heās gotten. Heās quite attractive. My heart begins to beat faster. Jungkook sighs again and his eyes flutter open to meet mine. He smiles at me and whispers, āIāve really missed you, (Y/n).ā I smile back at him.
Iām not sure who leaned in first, but we kiss. It starts as soft pecks, but turns into slower and longer kisses. His lips brush against mine as he gazes into my eyes. āYou have no idea how long Iāve wanted to do that.ā He mutters against my lips before kissing me again.
āKook,ā he just hums in response. āI love you..ā He pulls away and looks me in the eyes. His face breaks out into a smile and he pulls me into him, burying his face into my neck. I giggle and hug him back.
āI love you too.ā He mutters into my neck. My heart beat speeds up again and I run my fingers through his hair. āThank you.ā He says after a minute.
āFor waiting for me to come home to you.ā
