Could we see imp and skizz wraslin (wrestling) like big lads do? Like 2 bears tossing each other about as like a date or for a anniversary♡
i struggled on how to pose them for a while, but i finally had an idea :D
impy is too focused on his base projects around when skizz's entry to hermitcraft anniversary is coming up, so skizz takes the initiative to try to steal all of impy's supplies so theres no distractions <3
"You guys shoulda seen it!" Impulse proclaimed loudly, tail swinging wildly with excitement. "I mean, Tango was great, but the lead singer—" The demon whistled.
"That good, huh?" Gem asked with a look that promised teasing should Impulse say much more.
He didn't heed the warning. "Yes, that good! I wish you guys had come; it actually blew me away. Like, the drums and piano blended perfectly, and so many of the songs made me want to start dancing right then and there," he gushed, pausing only for a moment to take a sip from his water bottle.
Scott, meanwhile, waved his phone at him, the screen displaying a pink heart that was on fire. "This is the same Heart Foundation you saw, right?"
"You found their insta already!" the demon beamed, reaching to grab it before the blizz snatched the phone away, blizz rods whirling happily.
"A'course I did, I am a professional. We need to do as much research as we can on your new crush before he can have our approval," Scott teased, scrolling through photos and posts.
"It's not a crush," he pouted, though he didn't bother with defending the claim against Gem's snort.
The warden peeked over Scott's shoulder, watching the photos fly past. "You said he's an angel, right?" she asked, glancing back at Impulse. She picked up her cocktail, taking a sip while the demon replied.
"Yeah, an angel. He's got these massive white wings, plus little pink ones on the sides of his head—though, I don't know if that was the lighting or dye or natural. Either way, they matched his suit perfectly, I didn't know it was possible for someone to look so good in hot pink! And- and! He's absolutely jacked, his arms were like the barrel of a cannon—and his hair also had hot pink streaks in it, and-"
"Like this?" Scott cut him off before he could ramble more, showing a photo of the angel, his arm slung around Tango as both of them laughed at the camera. He wasn't wearing the pink suit, just a tank top and sweats, but damn, if he didn't look just as hot, scars and muscles on full display.
Impulse's tail curled happily, a purr rumbling in his chest. "Yes, that's him! What does it say? Is his name on there, any other info about their next performance—though, I could just ask Tango when I see him-"
"You don't even know his name?" Gem interrupted, incredulous.
"I was distracted, okay?" he tried to defend, feeling a blush creeping up his cheeks. "I was taking a video for Tango while he was introducing everyone, and his voice was just so smooth, I couldn't really focus on the actual words. It's not my fault!"
They just giggled at him, Gem's elbow coming up to prod Scott, who looked up from the phone. Surprise flashed across his face, but it quickly turned to a teasing grin to match Gem's.
"You were distracted, hmm? Too busy eyeing up the hot angel to pay any attention?" the blizz asked, eyebrows wiggling suggestively.
"I think so," the warden agreed before Impulse could defend himself. "Enamored with a complete stranger, our little Impy's all grown up~" she teased, eyes narrowing as though daring him to disagree.
He rolled his eyes, taking another long drink from his water; playing earlier had really left him drained, but not quite drained enough to sit out Tango's performance, despite Gem and Scott abandoning him to go get drinks. Impulse sighed happily, the image of the angel silhouetted by the backlighting still fresh in his mind, not to mention the memory of his voice. He'd need to ask the blaze hybrid later how they had met.
"So what if I am?" he argued, hands coming up to rub away the growing flush on his face. "I mean, he's friends with Tango, so he's gotta at least be a chill dude, plus he was so funny during the show, he interacted with the audience perfectly—honestly, Gem, you should be taking notes."
Her mouth fell open in amused shock, while Scott's smirk only deepened. They shared a glance, one that Impulse recognized well enough by now to know that they were categorically not going to drop this any time soon. Not that he cared; he was happy to keep rambling about what an amazing performance the niche band had put on; Impulse could recognize good music when he heard it.
"I don't know, I think you might be a tad biased," the blizz said, the frosty sparkle in his eyes refusing to disappear given Impulse's enthusiasm.
Gem nodded. "Definitely. You just think he's hot, you want to find a quiet spot where you two can kiss and-"
"Gem!" Impulse interrupted, flush deepening at the implications. "I don't even know if he likes guys," he retorted, wilting a little at the thought. Not that it mattered; he didn't know the guy, it's not like he'd somehow end up in a situation where hooking up was even possible.
"I dunno..." Scott drawled, eyes shifting to glance over the demon's shoulder. He grinned again at Impulse's embarrassment. "I feel like he'd be open to that sort of thing."
"And how would you know?" he snapped back, suddenly very self-conscious, as though the two of them were in on a joke that he didn't get. They did love to tease him, and it wasn't often that Impulse got a crush—not that this was a crush!
Gem just snorted while Scott waved the phone. "Instagram," he answered shortly, still smirking.
"But you didn't even answer the question!" the warden accused, taking another drink.
"What question?"
"Would you kiss him if you could?"
"Gem-" he tried to argue, hiding his blush with a hand again.
"Just answer! You never tell us about your love life, it's only fair," she insisted, giving him an intense and expecting look, one that warned against any arguing.
"I don't know him," the demon sputtered. "I guess I would, but I'd want to get to know him first, maybe take him out to dinner..." he trailed off, eyebrows furrowed at the thought. It really wasn't all that unrealistic that Impulse could meet the angel, since Tango could introduce them. But the odds of the guy actually being interested in anything?
"I was going to offer to buy you a drink, but I think it might have to be the other way around," came a deep voice from behind him.
The demon nearly jumped out of his skin.
Right in front of him was the angel, in the flesh, very close up and personal and—fuck, he was even hotter in person, suit torn at the sleeves and unbuttoned at the top, showing off his arms and chest. He was leaning against the bar, a stereotypical smolder painting his features, blue eyes dark as they looked the demon up and down.
Impulse short circuited.
He was stammering something, but he wasn't sure what—a greeting? An apology? How much had the angel heard, did he think Impulse was weird, did he-
"I'm asking if I can buy you a drink," the angel clarified, smirk fading into a more serious expression as he repeated the offer.
"I, uh-" The demon's mouth went dry. "I can't, I have to drive later," he answered weakly, brain still not catching up to the fact that the guy was hitting on him.
"No, you don't," Gem denied cheerily, the smile in her voice clear even though Impulse's back was turned. "We'll get an uber. Go have fun, enjoy yourself~"
He looked back up at the angel, who was now giving him the sweetest, most encouraging smile, and swallowed thickly. He nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I- I'd love a drink," he managed, still unbearably flustered, tail curling in on itself.
The man grinned, the wings on his head puffing up happily—that's adorable—as he offered an arm to the demon.
Impulse took it, letting the angel lead him away to order drinks.
"Just be back by hotel checkout at ten tomorrow!" Scott called after them.

So that's their first meeting! I also want to write Skizz's first impression of Impulse and his pov of this encounter at some point, and potentially even extend the scene a little further when we see him ;)
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed! And if there's any questions about anyone in this au, feel free to drop an ask <3
do you think sometimes when Skizz blinks he sees it in his retinas. The numbers. And he tries to ignore them and have fun but he can't escape what he knows is inevitable.
holy shit yes yes yes!!! he's trying to have a fun time, hang out with his friends and be positive, when the numbers flash in his brain like a vision. and he tries his best to brush it off, continue being happy and content, but it haunts him. he can barely even get to sleep without those numbers buzzing in his mind like a beehive, a constant reminder of his early demise that follows him like a shadow -- but he'd never show it. he can't let it get him down.
amazing contribution Anon, thank you for the angst <3
This is a very dumb Skizzidarity hc, but after the “LETS DANCE” comments in Secret Life, Skizz and Jimmy both decide to get into dancing. They know how to do the Salsa or Tango, and also dance fighting (which doesn’t help too much in the Life series without some music but still fun for play-fighting)
I also think despite cheering for himself for outliving Skizz in Wild Life, Jimmy still misses him and gives him a hug during session 8. Probably another hug in the afterlife when they are both dead.
YES YES YES!!!!!! they are such sweethearts, they'd definitely learn how to dance together in the series just for fun!! Jimmy claims that they're training their co-ordination and battle stances, but Skizz makes no such excuses to others, just happy to do some twirls with his partner :)
as for the zombie hug, ohohohoho you are so correct Anon! maybe Jimmy does cheer when Skizz dies, just an instinct without any real thought behind it, but seeing him as a zombie... that makes it all so much realer. Jim sees him for the first time and just yanks him into a hug, no room for complaints or hesitation, even if he knows it's a death wish. Skizz knows this is a golden opportunity to kill him but he just... can't. he holds Jimmy back, muscle memory even as his muscles rot, and forgets the bloodlust for a second. they find peace in each other.
Ough these are both so good Anon, thank you for sharing!!! come back to share more anytime bhehe <3
number eyes impulse writing the numbers again and again and again and again so he can never forget every time he fell short
if you walk around any Life Series world, you'll find it. numbers carved into trees; made with rocks on the ground; written in scratchy writing on the sides of buildings like graffiti. everyone knows it's Impulse. every time he wins a fight. every time he loses a fight. every time he finds himself getting too comfortable, wishing the world away and that he could just relax for once -- he writes those numbers. a reminder of all that he could never be.
and when he finally wins, Impulse will die just as he lived: lonely and obsessive.
here's a headcanon for most Skizz ships to prove my theory that he is the most shippable man to ever exist
Bdubs/Skizz - Skizz pampers the HELL out of Bdubs. giving him random gifts, constant PDA, always letting him steal his clothes. (you know how when cats lick and clean rabbits, both the rabbit and the cat think they're the dominant one in the exchange? yeah. that's them.)
BigB/Skizz - they have the strangest uncle vibes you've ever seen. they'd show up to the gathering with homemade desserts, forget everyone's names twice, refer to each other as "roommate" while wearing wedding rings, and leave with the bowl of Doritos. cryptid couple.
Etho/Skizz - as they lay together, they'll both trace each other's scars oh-so-gently with their fingers. sometimes they'll trail kisses down them. Etho isn't much of a touch person, so Skizz treasures these rare moments when they're so intimate.
Scar/Skizz - they have watched the entirety of the Star Wars franchise about three times by now. Skizz still isn't really sure what it's about because Scar likes to ramble over the dialogue with trivia about each individual scene, but he prefers it that way anyway.
Grian/Skizz - it's pretty common to see them both up in the air, having a flying competition. Grian is objectively much better: he can swoop and curve and dive with such elegance, while Skizz can barely change direction without a bit of stumbling. they're both too competitive to give in though, and it's just so much fun! so far, the score is 82 - 0. (and hey, if all that flying exhausts them both so that they get home and cuddle until they sleep, then bonus!)
Impulse/Skizz - Skizz always seems to know when something is bothering Impulse, to the point where he'll fly across the server to see him because he "just had a bad feeling". it's always correct, and Skizz always makes sure to comfort Impulse.
Martyn/Skizz - they make each other laugh SO hard. it's rare to see them not smiling around each other because of how much chemistry and banter they have. absolute chaos bringers.
Mumbo/Skizz - Skizz can very easily pick Mumbo up as if he weighs nothing. if they're together, Mumbo barely gets the chance to walk anywhere because Skizz just loves carrying him bridal-style to various places. sometimes Skizz will even have Mumbo in one arm and another hermit in the other just to show off; Mumbo finds it quite handsome.
Pearl/Skizz - Pearl makes Skizz bouquets of flowers as random gifts, "just cause!". he keeps all of them in a vase in his base, keeping them until they're wilted and dying until she gifts him a new one. occasionally he'll put a flower in his suit pocket when they go out, to match with one in her hair.
Ren/Skizz - they're constantly play-arguing about who's the better lover, who's better at flirting, etc. they will only stop when Skizz pulls Ren in for a kiss so he physically can't argue back.
Scott/Skizz - they're all softness and sweetness. Skizz will talk to Scott in a softer voice than usual, making sure he bundles up warm or has a hearty breakfast; Scott laughs and pushes him away ("I don't need you mothering me!"), but he does find it quite endearing to not be so independent for once. bonus: they're totally like parents to the rest of the group. they've grounded Jimmy twice.
Joel/Skizz - the MOST competitive couple on the server. if they're going somewhere, it's a race; if they're flirting, it's a challenge; they are just non-stop. at first, Skizz tried to reign in Joel's competitiveness a bit, but it's just so much more fun to make everything into a playful competition. they are the reason Uno was banned at the group hangouts.
Jimmy/Skizz - refer to themselves as "jizzle" when together. they enjoy the sheer rage and disappointment that it's always met with.
Tango/Skizz - they are the MOST PDA couple you will EVER see. Tango is constantly calling Skizz handsome, hanging off of him, gently biting him on the arm; likewise, Skizz always has an arm around Tango, squeezing his cheeks as he tries to talk, pressing kisses all over his face and arms. it's sickeningly sweet.
Cleo/Skizz - they're both so chaotic but in such different ways: Cleo is one annoyance away from setting fire to someone while Skizz is one funny idea away from setting fire to himself. sometimes they have to reign each other in, but most of the time Cleo is burning down a building and Skizz is cheering them on from the sidelines. he brings little cheerleader pom-poms.
Zedaph/Skizz - they are banned from the kitchen after trying to make instant noodles in the coffee machine <3
Headcanon that the Dogwarts soldiers had a uniform. Not just the shield and armor, but a military haircut as well. Ren would help Martyn buzz his hair.
When Third Life ended, and Dogwarts disbanded, Martyn let his hair grow out. His nation was gone so there was no reason for him to keep cutting.
During Double Life, Martyn considered cutting his hair again. It was getting a little longer at this point and needed a trim. But Martyn had never cut his own hair, it had always been Ren, and Ren was preoccupied with his soulmate.
So Martyn let his hair keep growing.
In Limited Life his hair was long enough to get in his face, especially when it was wet (living in the Coral Isles, his hair was often wet). Scott would help him to tie it back, giving him little braids. This became a routine, every morning before the session started they would sit in the sand and Scott would brush and braid. (Cherrifire, thank you for Martyn's braids in his thumbnails. Thank you so much, my life is yours)
Then Secret Life happened, and Martyn is isolated and with Jimmy. Neither of them know how to braid, and Martyn definitely doesn't trust Jimmy to cut his hair for him, so he keeps his hair long and puts it in a bubble braid. And when Jimmy dies he keeps a yellow feather fastened to the lowest hair tie.
i have a headcanon that whenever a player loses their final life, their corpse's pupils turn into their placement. example: when Mumbo dies in Wild Life, his eyes don't show pupils, only the number 18. then Skizz's say 17, Martyn's 16, etc until Grian's say 02 and Joel's say 01.
Scar in Secret Life buried every body that he could salvage once he won. he placed each one into carefully-dug graves one by one, looking everywhere but their eyes. he desperately didn't want to remember them only by their numbers, have that be the last thing he sees of them.
Grian in Third Life, as he's on top of Scar punching him until he's unrecognisable between the blood and sand, watching as those eyes go from dazed and foggy to 02. in his heart, that number should be 01.
Martyn gets 07 tattooed on him in Last Life, after the events of Third Life. he wants to honour his Lord's achievements.
Impulse has obsessively kept track of every single number that has appeared in his eyes: 05, 05, 02, 07. it mocks him. one day, he will get that 01 in his eyes, if it's the last thing he ever does.
Tango can't go to Skizz's funeral services each season. he tried to go once, in Limited Life, but he couldn't stop thinking about how high that number is. he doesn't want to see his friend in that way.
Jimmy jokingly gets called a teenager, because that's where he always is: in the teens.
Grian in Wild Life desperately searches for parts of Mumbo's body after his death. all he finds is a pair of eyes that say 18.
