It’s so sad to hear that a person has to take his life to stop his agony. Depression is not just a feeling. It is an illness and if not treated, it can lead to suicide. We can not pinpoint who has it because most of the times, they don’t show any signs or we didn’t see the sign. What we can do is to be sensitive with people around us and be present - not just physically present but mind-and-body present.
