In the Scrivenersverse, writers like that sometimes end up actually making their worlds real.
Written Worlds is a new series, planned to last five books, that follows different writers - scriveners - who discover that they have this dubious gift. Each of them faces different fallout from that gift and deals with it in a different way, but they're all headed towards the same thing: a crossover event arranged by a master manipulator.
In Scrivener's Heart, dissatisfied steampunk romance novelist Latisha Robbins is fed up with her protagonist, skyship captain and seductive serial jewel thief Rodrigo. So naturally, she finds herself trapped in his world with no other option than to help him with his latest heist. It seems like a nightmare - but the longer Latisha stays, the more she realizes that her world, and Rodrigo, are far better and more complex than she's believed in a long time...
