“Heading into 2018, if skating doesn’t go well, that’s it for me. Skating is the one thing that I have, and if it goes well, that’s what my life was destined to be. And if it doesn’t go well, then you know, it’s kind of wasted, which obviously, is a pretty toxic mentality.

I think being able to then realize, you know, skating is cool, but it’s just like, one part of my life, there’s a lot more that I can do, theoretically, in the future. Even if skating is no longer there, there [are] other things that I can find passion for.”
