If you shoplift don’t reblog posts about respecting retail workers doing holiday seasons.
It’s very clear you don’t respect them if you’re willing to ignore the fact that they say they risk being laid off, having fewer hours, etc. as a result of people shoplifting. You are fucking over someone’s livelihood.
I’ve started taking photos of stolen merchandise I find around our store (empty boxes, torn open packaging, etc).
That money literally comes out of my paycheck. I’m struggling to pay my mortgage and still be able to feed myself, let alone my bills, medication, or even just A Nice Thing every once in a while.
(All of that is from two or three days, by the way. I could go on.)
If you shoplift, or condone shoplifting, go fuck yourself. Don’t fucking pretend you care about respecting me or anyone else working retail this holiday season, or ever. You clearly don’t.
I’m currently doing security for a mall and I have to deal with shoplifters quite often. Lemme tell you, they are some if the most self absorbed and stupid assholes I’ve ever met.
They are typically fairly young, around 12-21, and are not in hard spots in life. The mall I work for stocks some fairly high end products, so these things that these shitheels take are not necessities. They’re things like iPhones, makeup, jewelry, expensive clothes, and the like. They don’t need these things, and we know this because after we arrest their dumb ass we check their record with the police to determine what we will do with them.
One case I had to handle was a group of girls stealing hundreds of dollars in goods from stores that their friends worked at. They exploited the trust of their friends so they could get some fucking yoga pants. Upon my arrival and speaking to the shopkeep, it was decided that I would let them off the hook so long as the merchandise was to be returned. They returned most of it, but STILL stole from their friend’s store. Last I heard, they got busted trying the same stunt elsewhere, one of these idiots is currently in County.
Many of them, once caught, are already running a record as long as my fucking arm, and here in Utah retail theft cam escalate to a felony. Meaning, after enough reported cases of a person stealing goods (either by arrest or if they have video evidence of the person stealing) or after a certain dollar amount stolen the crime is moved from misdemeanor to felony and is punished as such.
To you shoplifting shits out there, quit while you’re ahead. You are ruining people’s lives for trinkets and you will be caught sooner or later. You will ruin your lives for absolutely nothing, and you will always be known as a dishonest individual and barred from numerous employment opportunities as well as losing certain rights.

one of my greatest fears is that everything i mutter under my breath can be heard by everyone around while the things i say loudly and with intention are given the attention of a whisper.
he tried to play it off like nothing happened
If that beach is my life, that puddle was this past semester.
story time: i taught my little cousin her first longer word when she was very young. i taught her to say “tax benefits”. and to this day my aunt still doesn’t know where she got it from, but it was a hilarious sight to see a little toddler waddling around the house, wearing a big diaper, all the while yelling “TAX BENEFITS!!!!”
My parents did this with me and “nuclear disarmament”.
I taught my little brother to say “micro-surgical vasectomy reversal” (saw it on a billboard) on a road trip, and he didn’t stop saying it for literal years.
My parents taught me to chant “Get your laws off our bodies!” for a pro-choice rally when I was like four and I went to preschool and taught all the other kids the chant and led them on a mini-parade around the playground and the teachers were like ?????????? ?????????? ????????????
whenever my brother threw a tantrum as a baby my parents would chant “live free or die” until he calmed down it was fuckin weird
when i was a kid whenever we got stuck in traffic my dad would say “what the fuck?!?” in a very comic voice and i would repeat it and then he would say it with a slightly different inflection and i would repeat that too and so forth and so basically my poor mother would be stuck in standstill traffic listening to her husband and 4 yr old daughter swearing at each other without end
i’m a preschool teacher and we like to joke around using radical vocabulary with the children, the other day i overheard one kid say ‘this is my truck’ and the other one said ‘no, this truck belongs to the collective’; they all say it now
When I was probably about 6 years old, I accidentally overheard my dad say "son of a bitch" out in our garage because he dropped something on his foot. Being the candy-obsessed, yet also musically-inclined, child I was, I noticed "son of a bitch" and "give me a break" had the same amount of syllables, so I paraded around our house singing "son of a bitch, son of a bitch, son of a bitch, that's a KitKat bar!" for like 3 years.
I work at a Walgreens and we received a few of the new #PRIDE displays for Sinful Colors nail polish about a month or so ago. Every time I would unpack one and set it up though, the next day it would be gone. Apparently, my manager was telling the other employees to take down the displays and mix the colors in with all the others of that brand, taking the stickers off the bottles in the process. He's never done this with any other display, especially not one this new. I'm not LGBTQ+, but I still find this offensive, so I bought all the #PRIDE colors I could find and I plan on finding every one in the set, even though I don't usually paint my nails. In something as simple as nail polish, you would think it would be easy to overlook something you didn't personally agree with. Apparently my manager can't, and even though he's a great person in every other way, I don't think it was necessary for him to do that.
This blog will make you feel at peace
I am so thankful for every minute I've had in this hall and at this wonderful university. Thank you for all the friendships I've been a part of, knowledge I've gained, and spiritual guidance I've received. Can't wait to do it all again in the fall! :) #leeuniversity #leeu #goodbyedorm #flames

A piece on needing help and not having to do everything alone. It’s not weak to get help- it can help you become stronger and reach new heights, places you couldn’t reach on your own!
