Twenty reviews on my new fic, Overprotective, sounded nice… except most of them are trolling! :( I’ll have to delete them!

We have a bit of a controversy on FFN, because of a user named Ric122, who is mentioned in these posts. He’s been stealing other users’ fics and using the names of his next generation characters: I’ve been aware of the situation for a month or so, but tried not to get involved… but polluting my reviews is a line crossed fresh for me.

He stole John 117′s South Park: Next Generation, fic, substituting his characters for John 117′s. Has since been deleted.

He stole Madamredrose25′s “Pretty Feet“, turning it from a cute Stan/Sharon fic into one with his OC and Wendy.

…which made for a weird relation to his theft of a fic called “A Night to Remember“, an incest fic of the Stan/Sharon variety, which he shifted to Wendy and her son in his fics.

There’s at least one more example, I’m forgetting.

All of the above examples are gone. He had 17 fics yesterday and now has 9 fics. So, it’s over, right?

Nope.

Compare this Hey Arnold fic, Do the Wiggle, Man, from 2012 to Ric122′s Girls Doing the Wiggle - the former fic is under his favorites, so it’s obvious he’s read it. Blatant plagairism with name changes.

Of course, how could I say that when I clearly recommended it?

Okay, so spoiler alert - that’s not me. It’s an anonymous review.

This brings me to the issue that’s really bothering me right now - those anonymous reviews at the top? Ric122 is impersonating people to boost his own fics with fake reviews, as well as to attack other users such and create general disarray, as you can see in the first few screenshots. Many of the names he’s using there are people I’m friendly with.

Sometimes he forgets to anonymously impersonate other people.

So, I hate call-out posts. Any of my friends can tell you this kind of stuff riles me up, sometimes even when it’s deserved. I tried my best to make sure this post was a collection of evidence more than a moral call to judgement.  This guy is:

stealing other people’s work to pass off as his own.

impersonating other users in positive reviews for his works

impersonating other users in negative reviews on others’ work.

So, anyway, be aware, and use the Report Abuse feature and don’t leave a review if you have an account :(
