Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 Opening 2
Frontiers by Awich
So awhile back you made a post about when Legend is comfortable with people he speaks with them through telepathy. If he were to eventually create a telepathic connection with each of the other links, what do you think the order in which he makes the connections would be?
Ooh! I love this concept!
Hyrule is first. Looking at the dynamics as of late, I'd say that Legend is quite comfortable with him, perhaps the most out of all of them, and honestly I can see Legend just...forgetting that he hasn't already told him about it and just....starts talking to him telepathically in the middle of a dungeon or the path or one night when they're both awake or on watch. Naturally, poor Hyrule would not be expecting this, but when he either puts two and two together or asks Legend about it, he's kinda touched, although also a little weirded out because Legend's Inside Voice and his Outside Voice don't sound the same at ALL
Twilight would be next, I think. We all love Sky and Legend content, I'm sure, but Twilight is definitely higher on the list of people Legend's close to and trusts. I feel like for him, Legend just shoots him this snarky ass little comment one day while they're dealing with someone annoying, and it sounds just enough like Midna that Twilight just moves to respond before it clicks that hey, Midna isn't here, hasn't been, and that was inside his head- why is there a voice in his head other than his own? But what Legend said was also so very Him coded that Twilight figures it out and just sort of....accepts it? He doesn't ask, or really confirm in any particular way, just thinks Legend's nae in his direction sometimes and then gets a response, so he figures it's a safe bet. I don't think he really considers the implications beyond just "Legend decided to do this now, apparently" but he does realize the rest aren't part of it yet. Still, keeps it to himself and he kind of enjoys the little voice in his head that's just spouting sass and commentary every so often, because it really does remind him of Midna.
Sky is next. I feel like for him, Legend's probably injured or just very, very tired, and he doesn't really think about it, it's just easier to use his Inside Voice than his Outside one, so he does. Sky is not prepared, at all, for the voice in his head, and at first he thinks that someone else's sword might have like...a spirit or something, because there's nothing else and no one new around them, but then after a little bit, he does figure it out, Maybe he asks Legend about it later, just an aside when they can get a moment alone, and of course Legend is mortified that he did it without thinking, but also that Sky witnessed No-Filter mode (which is 100% more childish, silly, and generally affectionate than Normal Legend), but Sky just sort of laughs it off and tells him it's fine. Legend's initially more careful at first, but again, he likes his Inside voice better and it's more natural for him, so he defaults to that after a bit.
Warriors is the fourth one. Legend's definitely injured and not thinking straight and just sort of fumbles which channel he's using before he starts mouthing off at the captain while the man's trying to get him patched up. Warriors just takes it in stride in the moment, because an open would takes priority, but then he finds himself questioning it later. It takes a good while before Legend does it again to him and by that time, he's almost convinced himself he imagined it. The second time it happens, it's probably during a battle; Legend was just trying to shout at him but got his wires crossed and now Warriors has a front-row seat to Legend's inner monologue during a battle, which mostly consists of "don't get hit, don't get hit, don't get hit" and the occasional tactic or mini-panic when someone else is in danger. Wars pulls him aside after it's over and demands to know what's going on, because it messed him up in battle too and he'd like answers, which means he's the first and only one who gets a proper explanation beyond just "I'm telepathic"
Time is next on a technicality. Legend was just annoyed with him and mouthing off in his head and just thought everything a little TOO hard, resulting in Time hearing it, which is trippy a anything when you've just scolded your team for something and then start hearing a disembodied voice complaining about you, and none of the boys seem to be aware of it. It's not until a long time later that he realizes that the random voice is Legend, and he honestly just starts to wonder if maybe he's losing it, because none of his ghost sensitive stuff is reacting and nobody else hears it and it only really sounds when he did something the boys don't like, so he sort of just thinks it's like the cumulative voice of the team or something until answers come out.
Wild finds out when he and Hyrule go wandering off one time and Legend is the one who gets sent after them. The vet sort of forgets that Wild doesn't already know and just defaults to using his Inside Voice to scold at them because he's sort of short of breath and also it's just second nature by now to talk to Hyrule that way, He's confused at first, but just sort of accepts that okay, yeah, legend can do this just like Zelda can, this must be a magic wielder thing, since he can hear Hyrule too (Legend can connect people's minds via his own to some extent) and so he just accepts that this is a normal magic user thing and moves on with his life.
I feel like Wind finds out in one of those rare peaceful moments where they're all just being people and he and Legend just so happen to be in the same space. Maybe the rest are playing in the waters of Lake Hylia or something and Wind decides to take a break on shore with Legend, or maybe it's during watch, or perhaps while visiting someone's home, but Legend just thinks something his way and Wind responds and it takes until sometime long after going to bed for Wind to realize that Legend never actually opened his mouth for the whole conversation. He's convinced he imagined it, and spends the next few days trying to see if it can/will happen again. I think Legend realizes what's up though and decides to mess with him few a bit before actually doing it and confirming the sailor's suspicions.
Four is the last one. By that point, legemd's figured out that everyone else knows or that he's told them, so it's just a matter of him deciding to pop into Four's head one day when the smithy is spaced out and remind him to focus, except it's one of those moments when Four's feeling particularly fragile and all his aspects just start freaking out because what do you mean there;'s a new fifth one of us? Were did that come from? Is Shadow back somehow? WHERE DID THAT COME FROM? Legend's unaware that he sparks a mini identity crisis on accident, and it's not until he done it a couple of more times that Four pieces together that no, that's not himself, it's someone else who apparently can just...be in his head?!?!?!? Takes him a moment to realize it's Legend, but once he does, he's very confuzzled for a while still.
I feel like Legend doesn't use his Inside Voice as a default with the group as much, but more for one on one interactions because sifting through multiple people's thoughts is pretty tricky for him, and can be mentally exhausting, but he is willing to try it at times when they need to split off for some reason or if they need to discuss things without being heard by other people. Doing it with multiple people at a time though wears him out quickly though and so he only uses it sparingly.

THE REST OF THE CHAPTER IS UNDER THE CUT!!!!
I feel like Legend is so traumatized he's not traumatized anymore. Like. He laughs at trauma now.
Hibiscus? Pshhhh he was so childish to have cried at that once, right?
Thunder? Wow, he must've been dense to think he would've been struck twice...
And then one day he just stares and stares at a hibiscus flower until a single tear falls and one of the others asks him if he's okay and he just nods.
But like that nod where you can't tell if its a yeah or a yeah I'm not.
I can totally imagine Sky just sitting down next to him until he snaps out of it and just smiling like nothing ever happened.
Legend would be so confused at why Sky didn't laugh at him or call it stupid. He'd think it was just sky being kind.
And then one of the other boys would do it too.
Like, maybe they were on the great sea as a group and it started to rain, and Legend is just staring at the sky frozen, and Wind just grabs his hand a guides him below deck, and sits him down. And just sits there and then dispells the storm with the wind waker.
And Legend is all like why?
And Wind just nods and does cryptic Time-like stuff and never answers.
And Legend can never get a straight answer from anyone who helps with his trauma.
So he's just like 'I think I broke them, they don't see weakness. What am I supposed to do now?'
And eventually, maybe he helps Wild while out in an open field, who was panicking from guardian trauma. Like, he led the other to a area with trees and just sits with him.
And then Legend's just like 'Oh. I'm a dumbass.'
