Another old doodle. I drew this one when I was really under the weather. The death screen from Paper Mario came to mind. It made me feel just a bit better drawing how I was feeling XD

This is an older sketch I made at a Pixar talk. There was even a showing of the then new short “Piper”. I just had to draw the piper chick and hermit crab.
It’s been awhile since I’ve had anything worth posting. This was a quick set of doodles playing with pose and eye expression using the hair for additional emphasis. The character design is inspired by the coal sprites from Spirited Away.
A rough animatic for a story I hope to animate someday. The story is about an old man who misses the fun of his youth and discovers he can still experience the joy of his childhood.
Music:"To Our Surprise" by Yoko Shimomura"I Heard Ramona Sing" by Frank Black
The final project from my Motion Media course. The only big requirements were the animation had to represent all four seasons in some manner and each "season" had to have a minimum duration of 5 seconds. It’s also one of my few stories created in 2D
The characters, props, and scenery were all created with Photoshop and Illustrator. All animation and effects were created using After Effects.
Links to the music I used (which also include information on purchasing those works) can be found here: "Background Music" on soundcloud "First Love" on youtube
Character creation in Photoshop and animation created in After Effects.
An older hand-drawn animation from my days at SCAD for my Mark in Motion class. We were given a sequence of images (I was given a dog running) and we were to make it into a 10 second or longer animation.
The song clip is from "The Dog Days are Over" by Florence + The Machine and all rights of the song belong to the group.
Day 31: Dragon
It took a few extra days, but I finished up Drawlloween. I decided to finish up with the climactic battle between Maleficent and Prince Phillip from the animated film Sleeping Beauty. The black colors of the dragon’s design worked well with the current medium I have been using. If I get a chance, perhaps I’ll go back and add some color (and the rest of the background if I have time, haha).
Day 30: Spider
Another attempt of trying to bring something new to an obvious subject for a Drawlloween objective. I know at some point in the comics or various cartoon series, ol’ J J ends up running for mayor. With all the flack he gives Spider-Man, I imagined Peter might try for a little pay-back. In this case, a Charlotte’s Web reference to playfully deface one of Jameson’s campaign billboards. I know it’s a bit hard to read, but it ends up saying “‘Some Pig' For Mayor”.
Day 29: Scarecrow
Just a little bit more catching up to do for Drawlloween. As promised, another Ghibli character from Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle. I have always found Turnip Head’s design quite appealing so I jumped at the chance to draw a moment from the film with him prominently featured.
Day 27 & 28: Witch and Black Cat
Halloween is over but I still have some catching up left to do for Drawlloween. Today’s sketch is Kiki and Jiji from Kiki’s Delivery Service. I’m a huge fan of Studio Ghibli films. A big enough fan that at least tomorrow’s drawing will feature a Ghibli character as well.
Day 26: Rat
The third and final drawing for today. I couldn’t get a scary rat pose to work correctly. I decided to go a different direction and draw a moment of Remy from Ratatouille. Quite pleased with how Remy turned out :D I still have a few more objectives to complete for Drawlloween 2015 so I’ll still have to go a few days into November. At least I have caught up a bit.
Day 25: Mummy
Drawing #2 for Halloween. I decided to skip drawing Jack Skellington for the skeleton objective but I still wanted to draw something from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I settled on the adorable little mummy.
Day 24: Skeleton
Decided to go a bit more cartoony for the skeleton objective. It was a good excuse to work with high contrast to try and make the bones really pop. Since today is actually Halloween, I’ve decided to rapid fire a few of these. Expect a few more drawings in celebration of the holiday today!
Day 22 & 23: Candy, Gore
I’m not a huge fan of drawing gore for the sake of gore so this is another double-dip day with a scene for Gravity Falls. Here lies the Summerween Trickster. But don’t mourn him. All he ever wanted was someone to enjoy the rejected (gross) candy of which he is made. Still a bit creepy, Soos.
Day 21: 8-Bit Zombie
Decided to do something a little different and try my hand at an animated gif. Loosely inspired from the Game Theory episode Toad’s DEADLY Secret (https://youtu.be/2OaTwR8vXcc) that shows that toads might actually be fungal controlled zombies. I decided to take the idea and make it a bit more literal.
Day 20: Skull
I’m a big fan of The Dresden Files so I couldn’t pass up drawing Bob - a spirit of intellect who resides in a skull - from the series of books. Bob loves reading trashy romance novels so I decided to draw him doing exactly that. I added the text in post with Photoshop since my hand rendered text isn’t the best, especially stylized and at an angle. Threw in a Princess Bride reference just for fun.
