Quick 2016 Reel I made to help show people some video I make.
I learn a lot of things every time I make one of these. I have to go back through and make sure the audio is at the same level, but this is a good starting point.
I’m already looking forward to what videos I make in 2017! :)

Video Collage
I made this because I really like collaging with paper so I thought it would be interesting to do with video and move it to a medium that has movement. While I think it was a good idea I think I could have pushed it further by adding my own footage and playing with composition more.
I recently just went to the MCA and discovered an artists named Brain Bress. I feel like we have the same line of thinking and using video’s to create collages. His style was vary unique and impressive and you can tell he spent hours and hours creating scenes, costumes, and sets for his videos. I wish I had discovered him sooner because I feel like their were lots of things I could take from how he presented his videos and do something similar in mine.
Restless Line Responce
This article focused more on hyper drawing like the other reading ‘Acts of Hubris’. Hyper drawing is approaching drawing in a different way. You set limits and boundaries for your self, but beyond that what you create can be completely random and shows pure expression. Approaching drawing in a new way is interesting and allows for more conceptual outcomes rather than simply making a nice a drawing.
Hyper drawing reminds me a lot of early surrealists. The surrealists practice using their subconscious when drawing so they don’t ever really know what the end product will look like
I feel like what I did for my final was a hyper drawing because I gave myself perimeters and filled it with just all kinds of different video.
Defining Drawing Responce
Overall, this article was very interesting and had different aspects on what drawing was to many various famous artists. There were lots of connections of how drawing is best related to nature and how people should learn to draw by going outside. Training your eyes seems to be the real battle when creating art.
My favorite persons outlook on drawing was Wassily Kandinsky. Wassily claims that drawing is the most spiritual out of all activities because it has more strokes and marks which translates to experience and expression. I thought this was really powerful coming from Kandinsky since he focused so much on colour.
in a world of lies and liars, an honest work of art is always an act of social responsibility.

Drawing in Space
Red Rocks 60 second Self Portraits
I have a lot more drawings of my self, but I chose my favorites for the sake of time. This project was interesting because it had the aspect of time and discipline factored into it. This would be fun to work on with more time to draw and in a place with air conditioning.
