Loving on this. Makes the day go by faster.
Can't sleep. It's that time again.
Very cute. I want one for the office.
As Friday grows closer & closer, I have to wonder what happens to all iPhone 4 & 4s accessories this weekend? Sad. Such a waste.
On a positive note, I think I've found the iPhone5 cover I want most, though.
Keeper Pre-Order now featured on Fab. Fab.com After months of waiting, reading rumors, following blogs, and fantasizing about features, your time has come. The iPhone 5 is here. But now you're searching for an accessory that's just as impressive. Quirky is way ahead of you (and everyone else, too). Keeper is a leather-feel billfold wallet that clips to the back of your device, allowing you to access all your cards, cash, and documents without adding unwanted bulk to the sliver of sexy that is the iPhone 5.
Happy Birthday Kate Bush! How much you've inspired me dear. Thank you.
Thoughts on Photoshop CS6 UI
Spent much of the weekend working in Photoshop CS6. Overall, the UI is greatly improved because many things that felt hard to find before weren't this time around. It got me thinking:
a. How often should a company UPDATE their software's UI?
b. Should a User Interface (UI) be updated yearly? Is that overkill?
c. If I can get so excited about using Photoshop (a piece of software that I'm usually intimidated by its complexity), would I have used Photoshop much more in the past if the UI had been simplified? Is there a logical connection there?
d. Do we still need or want (in a general sense) to be able to customize our software interface? Is there an ideal UI layout or should we be focusing on placing that with our users?
e. And finally, is all this coming to mind because I've become accustomed to seeing software I'm familiar with start to cross over onto mobile more and more? Because I checked out the Adobe Photoshop Touch app (on the iPad), did that help me 'see' the new CS6 UI in a different way. Was the older UI cluttered but the new UI inspired by simpler interfaces due to the limited real estate of mobile screens? Did my mobile experience help instruct my desktop experience of Photoshop this time around? Is there something there for those of us that create this kind of tech/web/software connection?
What's Your Business
I remember an old friend who used to tell me, "What other people think about you is none of your business." The irony isn't wasted on me. Seeing that I went on to make some controversial films, succeed in marketing and sales, and largely make my living on helping professionals get a broader view of their performance, a small laugh escapes even as I write this.
But this bit of advice is still valuable now at 37 as it was in my late teens. In the personal or private world, I've seen that it is best to not interfere with a person's opinion of you but accept it and find whatever strategies benefit you most around it. Trying to convince another person what they've wrongly made up their mind about a person (even if it's you they've made their mind up about) is a sure fire way to waste time and resources. Shrug it off and focus on what is YOUR business.
I use Google's Documents service often. I've been using it since it launched years ago. I remember the day I encouraged my boss to share a spreadsheet with me to track progress on a project. What a game changer that was back then. Now, it's what I've come to expect from not only Google Documents but other apps and web based services. That was many years ago.
All things must change and I'm excited and curious to see what Google plans to do to the old Documents as it slowly becomes their new Google Drive service. Will I be looking back five years from now happy to of had a virtual desktop/disk full of files wherever I go? Ultimately, the success of these kinds of tech/services is in how much we use them. Even good ideas poorly executed fail everyday. What will I be saying about Drive years from now?
I think I'll wear my fav T Shirt today.
I while I work, I have little visitors waiting for me.
I recently upgraded my adobe to the Master Collection & have been poking around the often times 'too busy' site. I did find an interesting webinar that might be useful to others whose work falls somewhere between branding & social networks. Check out this useful link to sign up for the webinar. Enjoy.
My dear Lydia was almost dead. I tried to heal her with the 'Healing Hands' spell but it didn't seem to work. I'll try to fast travel next & see if that fixes the code. This is a little funny on Lydia I found from a random search.
