PLEASE WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS??? IS THIS NOT INSANE TO THE REST OF YALL?????
I DIED
This race was also a massive middle finger to everyone who said that Charles isn’t a smart driver. The one-stop strategy? It was Charles’ idea! Ferrari originally wanted to put him on a two-stopper. Charles knows exactly what he is capable of and proved it on the track today
Charles Leclerc’s biggest sin was being born somewhere without a sizable national media to support and defend him like almost every other driver has
Waking up to see Damon Hill criticizing Charles Leclerc for being too “emotional” and “depressed” because his teammate beat him in Suzuka of all places really just rubs me the wrong way.
This is the same driver who went out and won the F2 feature race in Baku barely four days after his father died.
This is the same driver who went out and won his first F1 race in Spa barely a day after his close friend was killed.
How dare anyone question his mental health, especially so callously.
Charles’ grief is not a tool for pundits to exploit. Charles’ performance in free practice and qualifying has nothing to do with his emotions and everything to do with motricity issues with the car as well as track evolution.
I will try to give Hill the benefit of the doubt about not realizing the implications of his words but the way he has repeatedly and hypocritically held Charles to ridiculous double standards needs to stop.
We were told that Charles needs to “assert himself more” but when he did so over the radio towards the end of FP3, he is “emotional,” “agitated,” and he “vents.”
What do you want from him then?
Sky Sports F1 is a huge media platform and words have far-reaching consequences.
Commentators are literally paid to think before they speak … let’s see that in action for once.
how can anyone hate him???

I will never forget the time Max Verstappen, geography nerd, the guy that memorized flags as a kid, asked Charles if Singapore’s flag was Monaco’s flag
He literally just faked not knowing something so he would have an excuse to talk to his crush and that’s so funny he’s such a loser

Max giving a thumbs up to Charles only to end up spinning in the next corner, Bahrain 2019
Charles gives a thumbs up too in answer 🥹
Max's spin in a different angle:
not to be a hater but the atmosphere in ferrari was so good these two days, even from the comms no snarky comments at charles, no mental games, no running to the media to speak ill about everything, i'm kinda wondering if the issue isn't something else other than poor strategies and bad cars lately, interrsting
