‘Black Widow’ - (Light Spoilers) Sets the tone right away and comes off like a spy film tragedy. Takes place before ‘Avengers: Infinity War (if you were wondering). Lots to connect and talk about. Felt like the film had some grooming for the audience to the dark underbelly of real life situations that should never be normalized. Sets up for some interesting things in Marvel’s future too. I wanted more from Taskmaster, but the villain was new and interesting and not totally unexpected or underutilized. We also get some insight on Budapest! Very cool end credit scene that sets up for some speculation. Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and David Harbour as Alexei aka Red Guardian are the standouts and make this film great! It has some of the best action sequences since ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier.’ Rating: 3.75 out of 5.
