hello people in the tumblr antonblast tag; i've recieved the kickstarter exclusive Destruction Booklet (its actually just an artbook in the format of a GBA instructions manual) and was immedietly given a message from god to get that shit scanned and uploaded for those who did not back the game to be able to access.

Just made a crackpot realization about Dynamite Anton

His dad is Crash Bandicoot, and his mom is Wario, right?

Crash Bandicoot for the PS1 was under the working title of "Sonic's Ass Game". Technically speaking, Sonic the Hedgehog is at least partly responsible for Crash Bandicoot's birth. Also, Dr. Neo Cortex's character was inspired by The Brain from "Pinky and The Brain".

I'm saying Dynamite Anton has a very weird and fucked up family tree

Crash is his dad, Wario is his mom, Sonic is his paternal grandfather, and since Cortex secretly considers Crash his son nowadays, that kinda makes Dr. Cortex family to Dynamite Anton as well! AND on top of that, he's also sort of related to The Brain through Dr. Cortex!

I know, this is all very silly to think about, and not canon in the slightest, but I find it very funny

In ancient Rome, there was the Antonius family, which is where the names Antonio, Antonia, Anthony, and Anton all come from.

The lore of the Antonius family is that they are descended from Anton, which is supposedly the name of the son of Hercules, a.k.a. Heracles, a.k.a. the demigod son of Zeus. Mark Antony claimed to be a member of this lineage, hence his name.

The name "Anton" has no known meaning in modern times, but "Antonius" meant "priceless" and "beyond measurable worth" and "flourishing". In other words, being an Antonius meant you were rich, powerful, prosperous, and important.

That all being said, I think it would be very clever and funny if our dear Dynamite Anton Ball had a biological father named Hercule Ball. Not only would it be a great nod to historical mythology, it could also function as a reference to Hercule Satan from DragonBallZ.

I mean...

Maybe it's just me, but I really do think this character has the sort of vibes you would expect Dynamite Anton's biological family to have.

I know, Anton is an alcoholic who was raised by a single mother. But he had to have had a father at some point. We don't know if he's alive or not, but imagine if a hypothetical Hercule Ball existed. Imagine him being still alive and out there somewhere. Imagine Anton running into him and maybe... smacking him with his Hammer for leaving to get milk and never coming back??? I don't know, I'm just brainstorming!

I just thought this bit of lore about the name Anton was interesting and it sort of spiraled from there, LOL
